Question about LG L1930B 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Monitor Problem Your help would be much appreciated on this 1.5 year old monitor. Monitor stopped coming on when the computer is turned on. When clicking the monitor's on-off button, you can get a 1 sec glimpse of the screen then it disappears. by playing with the on-ff button for upwards of 10 minutes, I can get a picture. If I don't shut the computer and monitor off, the screen continues working. Thanks much.

I'm having the same issues and the monitor is three years old at least. This happens with digital. I haven't tried the analog input but I think it would act the same way regardless. I took a can of air to it and it showed some improvement so I'm going to try taking it apart and cleaning it out, I'm hoping it's just that simple. Glad to see I'm not the only one affected.

Vx724 just stops working

Hello,

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

I have had similar problems. It would appear that the power supply is at fault, not the monitor.
