Question about Casa Vieja Turn of the Century Antique Iron Ceiling Fan
I installed a new motor on the fan, given to me by lamps plus, when I turn on the light, the fan will come on by itself about 40 seconds later and stay on. I will turn the fan off with the remote but then after a few seconds, the fan comes on again, by itself. Then the fan will be running and the light will go off on its own. Is this a wiring problem, perhaps the dip switches between the remote and receiver are set differently? I'm not sure what the problem is...any suggestions?
One of the wires had disconnected and this seemed to cause the problem.

look on the side of the canopy there should be a slide switch. if moving this switch has no effect, then either the switch is faulty or the connections to it may have fallen off.
