It is lit up with no numbers showing just some broken horizontal lines where the time should be. Completely unresponsive. I have tried unplugging it to no avail.
Please help.
Thanks

Hey, Thanks Jim. Where can I purchase a new one? I love this radio, but am surprised that it crapped out after only 6 years. Not like the radios of old.
Thanks

Hi,
I have a couple questions/comments:
You said the unit was "unresponsive" so I am assuming that none of the control buttons work in addition to the display showing faulty data.
If the buttons worked, meaning you could change radio stations but the display was not working, then this would tell me that your display had failed.
However, if the buttons do not work, then this tells me that the microprocessor has failed because its not accepting any commands from the buttons. The microprocessor also sends information to the display. So, that fact that you are having two problems; buttons won't work & bad data on tha display indicate a microprocessor problem.
There is a possibilty that the problem could be cause by a problem in the power supply section. Perhaps one of the voltages is missing. I always start at the power supply and if ok, go from there.
The question you need to consider is if its worth having it repaired rather than going out and purchasing a new unit.
Yes, it can be repaired but you will need to take it to a service center and you will need to consider the expense in having it fixed.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.
Good luck!
