i have a samsung s1065, its brand new i've only had it for a month, every now and again the lense gets stuck and the camera won't turn on, in the past i have just removed the batteries, put them straight back in pressed the on/off button and it goes back to normal but that no longer works, i haven't dropped it so i know its not due to impact, is there anyway i can fix it myself?

There appears to be something stuck in my lens. It is showing up on every picture I take. How can I clean out my lense?

That would be something stuck to your sensor, dust, dirt, even water on the lens will not show up most of the time. DO NOT TOUCH THE SENSOR!! should really ask your local pro shop for cleaning.

Lens stopped working after holding lens when on auto focus

error 99 may be the only error that the camera can identify with the problem. Generally this is dirty contacts in the camera and on the lens. The fix is to rub them with a pencil eraser and ensure no rubber swarf gets inside the camera. ( Hold upside down and use a blower and brush for cameras after doing it. Do the same to the lens contacts and re position turn on camera and see if it works ok now.

Lens is stuck

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

Camera does not take pictures. Lens get stuck when turned on. Flash works sometimes. When turned on nothing happens sometimes Olympus is-200

hi...The transmission system that moves the lens in and out has a problem with it's gears. There is most likely a gear or an actuator that has fallen out of alignment and is getting stuck at a certain point as the lens comes in/out.There is some disturbacnce of the lens arrangement that is preventing the lens from coming in/out.Any of these symptoms above could trigger the camera to shut itself off to protect itself from further damage. thank u rate me!!!

I have a SANYO VPC-T1060 i accidentally dropped it and it turned off with the camera lense out , i tried to turn it on but it wont

Usually when a digital camera has lens issues, they will turn on very briefly, then turn off. Try holding the bottom button in on the lcd side as you push the power button to see if your camera will display stored pictures. My daughter dropped her boyfriends 1060 in muddy water the other day and I cleaned it enough to get it to show pictures but couldn't get the lens to work. A drop or a speck of dirt will stop the lens from working. Haven't had much luck getting lens unstuck, but have replaced the lens unit, usually better to buy new camera unless you are very handy and can find a 1060 with a good lens and bad LCD, which I have done a few times. Looking on Ebay, most of the 1060's being sold 'as is' have bad lens and good LCD's......not good for us....hope this helps.

Camera lens stuck

this occured to me whilst using my Sony P200, took it appart and found the lens motor had basically jumped its gears and jammed, the only solution was to replace the lense section (as motor & gears were built in) as no other part was damaged but to do that it would be at least £70 and the camera had dropped value to £160 and i could get a better camera for that my advice get a new one. and sell the remains on eBay.

Quantary Tech-10 75-300mm use with Canon Rebel XTi

Hi all
On most lenses the way to test if your old lens works on a cannon digital to set the camera to AV then set the iris to the small setting ie F16/F22 then use the stopdown button.
Things that might happen
1 The lens will close down OK
2 The error 99 will show, will need are rechip if avaliable
3 Nothing happens, will need a rechip

Q.Why will it work inside but not outside.
A. Inside the camera needs light so the iris is full open, outside the lens needs to close down and if not compatible it is unable to close down. will need a rechip
