My printer worked fine until Windows 7 downloaded something supposed to make printers work even better.Now Word, Excel and Adobe files don't print. There is no error message. I hit the print button and it seems to work but nothing goes into the print queue. Test print jobs work just fine so the computer knows the printer is there but Word, Excel and Adobe do not. I uninstalled the HP driver and reinstalled it. Messages said it installed correctly. HP trouble shooting finds nothing wrong. But nothing prints.

Contacted HP Chat support. After investigating a bit they had me add a new printer using the virtual USB port and designating that printer as the HP OfficeJet 6500 E709A series. I did so and made that the default printer. Immediately Word, Excel and Adobe documents were once again printing.

please restart your computer and attempt to print again. If this does not work, please email excel file to a computer with a more up-to-date operating system (ie Windows 10) and then try to print again.

try to make the installed printers as a default printer and then try to print.

in case that does not work when you try to print from excel, click on the drop down for printer name and select the correct printer.

Deskjet 5550; Windows 7; Microsoft Office 2007; not printing

That is strange
Try changing the default to a different printer (Microsoft XPS Document Writer) see if it prints to it...

Then (If that works) try switching the 5550 back to default.

If that don't do it, uninstall thee printer, reboot and reinstall the printer.

Did you download and install the MP Toolbox (shown under the Software heading) from this link? This is the software program that allows the computer to use the scanner.

Printer prints blank pages from notepad, word, and excel.

Obviously there is nothing wrong with the printer, because you are able to print from the Internet.

Before attempting to print from word, excel etc, make sure you have the correct printer selected (check it through FILE MENU -> PRINT ->PROPERTIES)
Do a print test by typing just couple of words -may be in different color-

Can't Print!

First, I would suggest updating the driver from here. I would also download and install the patches and fixes for this printer. It doesn't sound as if it was installed correctly the first time.
