Check out the web site or go into a retailer and ask, they should know and tell you. Most laptops now a days hold at least a gig and some up to 2 or more depending on how good it is and its intended purpose. Video cards on laptops are built in so get one with a good video card because its not upgradeable. Processors are the same way, i would suggeest a 2.0 MHz or better.
Also, hard drive space is good, get one with 80Gigs or more. The more of everything you get at purchase will save you lots in upgrading later becasue individual parts cost alot from retailers.
If this is for gaming, make sure to get twice as much power or more than what is windows minimum running requirements or else you will have problems.
Always see the laptop in person before buying and check it for fragile-ness, crappy placement of connectors, touchpads that go crazy when you lean on the keyboard to much, things like that. Having the earphone jack in the back is a pain when you want to use it, then you have wires tangled everywhere.
