Question about RCA HD52W56 52" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

No picture no sound

I have a 2004 RCA HD52W56. When I plug in the green led blink 10 times, stay on for a few second and go off. When I turn it on there's high pitching noise in the back maybe came from the flyback, where the red wires coming in and out on the top of a white box. Does this mean the flyback when bad? because I don't get any picture or sound. Is there a way to test the flyback?

First check to see if you have any voltage at test points with a digital meter.
You may need a repair manual for this.
Since you hear some noise your main fuse is ok.
Try checking this tp voltages first.
BE CAREFUL, wear gloves

TURNING THE TV OFF

it could be high voltage cap located by flyback,if you have back off of tv and turn tv on,you will see green led's turn on,(on the board)if they turn off there is a small blue high voltage cap hidden under glue(i believe it's a 102 cap)that would be the one change,99% of time that is what will fix problem
