Asuming you are knowledgable about hooking up broadband i will guess that you know for a fact the its a good connection on the broadband routers side and there is actuall internet access and the problem is with your laptop.

If so then make sure you have the right installs.

get into your start menu at the bottom left> hover over settings>click on network connections and wait for the window to open. Right click on " LOCAL AREA CONNECTION" and select properties.

The little box should open showing a scrollable menu and say " Local area connection Properties" at the top. Make sure in the list of installed Items, you have at least the TCP/IP internet protocal installed and add version 6.


Also you can try cycling the power to your internet broadband router. Hook up the laptop, turn it on and log in, If you have a router that you are using to branch off your broadband to several computers, then unplug, wait 30 seconds and polug back in and it should register. If you are plugging directly into the Broadband router, cycle the power on it the same way.

Also make sure you are plugged into the right port on the router:)
