Retreiving deleted phone messages

To retrieve messages from the RCA Telefield model 1000 answering machine, follow these steps:

1. Press the "play" button on the answering machine. You will hear a beep and the machine will start playing your messages.
2. Use the "skip" and "repeat" buttons to navigate through your messages.
3. To save a message, press the "save" button. To delete a message, press the "delete" button.
4. If you want to keep a message, write down the date and time of the message and the caller's phone number.

If you are having trouble retrieving messages or the answering machine is not working properly, you may need to reset it. did you set a password in the setup menu for the vtech
let it ring then put in the code

This website listed above shows the manuals for the vtech phones. Find your model number on your phone and retrieve the manual from the site. On the part of recovering your deleted messages on your vtech phone, you can't recover them from the device itself. If you have Vonage, Comcast, AT&T or Verizon, which all have VoiceMail systems. They can recover your deleted messages. I hope something turns out for the good on this vtech problem.

Usually you play back messages on the console, and there is a "delete" key you can press for messages you have already heard.

New message indication The message display counter will flash when there are new answering system messages. If the new message alert tone is turned on, the telephone base will beep every ten seconds when there are unreviewed messages. Message playback Press /PLAY/STOP to listen to messages. If there are no new messages, the system will play back all messages (oldest first). There is no retreival of deleted messages. I went to the VTech web page, downloaded the PDF manual, and read the notations there.
