While using the intercom, one phone on our system has to lift the handset in order for us to hear their response. How do we make their handsfree (leaving the handset on in the cradle and speaking into the speaker only) work?

the mic lite is on but it does not work still

Check to make sure the Mic light is lit. Feature +1 controls the Mic.

In memory block 4-29, the extension must be told that the built-in Handsfree is enabled or disabled.
Unfortunately, NEC's default is to have it disabled.
