Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Dead printer? I have an HP deskjet F4180 which is less than 6 months old. There is no power to the unit and i cannot understand why. There is power to the transformer and the light is on, but the power switch on the unit itself will not switch it on. I have lost the receipt of purchase so am unable to return to the store. Is there a simple solution eg a fuse somewhere that I need to check out please? Thank you

I assume the transformer has 2 wires coming out of it. My guess is that the wire from the transformer is working however the wire leading from the Transformer to the printer is not.

You may need to purchase another power unit.
But on the bright side, a transformer is cheaper than a new printer.
:)

Hope this helps.

1. Unplug the power cord from the unit.
2. Reconnect the power cord into the unit.
3. When the lights begin to flash, press and hold the On/Resume and Paper Size buttons.
4. When only the On/Resume light is flashing, release the buttons.

My HP Diskjet F4180 All-in-One is working right

Hi

Please remove the power jack of the printer from the power surge and when required you can connect it and use it. It will also saves power and the cartridges will not dry due to power.

My HP deskjet won't scan to my computer, the power button just blinks when I hit 'scan' The make and model is HP Deskjet F4180

The HP Photosmart Software must also be installed and running on the computer before scanning.

Check that the USB cable is firmly plugged in to the printer and computer. Unplug the power cord both from the wall socket, and the printer. Wait 60 seconds. Re-attach the power cord securely. Power on. Try the scan again.

Under normal circumstances, a blinking power button just means that the machine is busy with a task. Be sure to let it finish its current task before initiating another.

I have a HP Deskjet F4180 AIO. It is printing

If you just replaced the ink cartridges, make sure you've removed the plastic tabs that cover where the ink shoots out. If they are old cartridges, make sure that the nozles haven't dried up. Remove the cartridges and dab a cloth (one you don't mind staining) where the ink shoots out, if all the colours show up, it's clear. If you notice very little colour, or none at all, try dampening the cloth and wiping down the cartridges to promote inkflow through the nozles. Hope this helps.
