The memory card support for V610 is SD/MMC up to 2 Gigabyte

Format your SD card. NOTE this will delete all existing data on your SD card.
Do the following:

  1. Insert the memory card into the camera. Make sure the card is firmly seated (push in the card until it clicks into place).
  2. Turn on the camera.
  3. Press the Menu button, then go to the Setup Menu.
  4. Scroll up or down to the Format option, then press the OK button

maybe your memory card is 1. not already reformated; try to reformat it in your laptop or pc then try to put it back 2. your memory card is locked; check the side of your memory card, if it is lock. Some memory cards have lock in the side.

Memory card error
The problem seems to be that the card has been formatted incorrectly (probably by your computer, if you used it in a card reader?). Unfortunately the camera can't reformat it itself, and default computer formatting is incompatible. You'll want to download the program Lowlevelformat.exe from this website--http://olypan.quotaless.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8, install it, reformat your memory card with it, and the camera will be happy with it again.
