Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC

2 Answers

E-Machine T1100 I am trying to access the BIOS settings on an E-Machine T1100. I've tried tapping on all the "F" buttons during startup. I've tried pressing "Ctrl+Alt+Insert", "Ctrl+Alt+PageUp", "Ctrl+Alt+PageDown", Ctrl+Alt+Home", "Ctrl+Alt+End" and "Esc" with no luck. All I see at startup is an E-Machine logo. How the heck do I access the BIOS settings?

Press "DEL" when you see the white emachine screen.

However, the amount of time it takes for the monitor to come out of sleep mode is quite lengthly, so it is easy to miss seeing the white screen altogether.

One way to get around this is to cycle the power on your monitor just before turning on the PC, so it will be on when the PC starts up.

The lazy way to get around this is to turn on the PC, and immediately start tapping "DEL" at 1-sec intervals, which will usually have you at the BIOS Setup screen by the time the monitor turns on.

Locked out from eee box 1035 need to reset bios how?

Try this. Right out of the manual. The reset button is the little pin hole next to the power. Will need a paper clip that is straightened.

Disable intergerated video card to allow for pci card to function

You need to access the BIOS to disable the on-board video. Do you have Windows 7 installed or have you upgraded to Windows 8?

For Windows 7, turn off the computer and then turn it back on. After pressing your on switch press Delete repeatedly to access the BIOS. (Some computers use Tab or another key, you should see a screen indicating the correct key.) If Windows starts to load, try again. (I usually have to try 3-4 times to press the key at the correct time following the POST.)

For Windows 8, the boot sequence can be too fast to hit the key. Use the Advanced Restart option. Access the Charms menu and choose Settings > General > Advanced Startup. Alternatively, Charms > Settings > Power > press Shift and then select Restart. This should give you a Boot options menu and you'll be able to access the BIOS from that.

On my machine, I need the Advanced BIOS and then the System Agent Configuration. Then I select Initiate Graphics Adapter. Your BIOS may be slightly different. Go through your VGA graphics for disabling the on-board graphics and enabling the correct PCI/PCI-e graphics option.

I hope this helps.

Would like to know how you access the setup menu or BIOS

I believe that you want to press the F2 button as soon as you turn it on, and keep pressing it until the BIOS setup screen comes up, If F2 doesn't work then try F10

Emachine hesitates when typing to fast

go into the bios and change the typmatic rate setting to a shorter interval. Usually the BIOS is accessable by tapping the "del" key as the system starts or another key combination as flashed on your screen during startup. If you get to the "starting windows" screen you will have to restart and try again.

Try to change the boot sequence or set your bios to defaults. Restart the computer. tap f2 on the dell logo. Press alt and F together. press alt and B together. Press Y if you get a prompt to 'save changes and exit?'.

If it still doesnt work. go back to the bios. restart. tap f2 on the dell logo. go to 'Integrated devices'. disable the network interface card'. Press Alt and b together. then try to boot the computer. Pls post back if it works.

Acer Aspire T180 PC Desktop

Hi,
Bios usually has to be entered initially at system bootup, sometimes within seconds of it starting.
There are usually three possible bios entry settings, depending on the systems bios manufacturer.
Try tapping repeatadly, either F2 Esc or Delete at system startup.
