The monitor only works for a few seconds when it is first turned on then drops out to a black screen, and the power LED remains green. If I turn the monitor off and back on it will do the same thing again. Everything shows up perfectly for about 5 seconds then goes black.... Help please...
It seems to be an Inverter related problem in which backlight seems to be shiutting down.Is this monitor 3-4 years old???If so backlight of the panel could be an issue.
If you are DIY kind you can switch off the monitor for an hour Open it Refit all connectors particularly backlight connections and while you are at it check if there seems to be any heating hot spots dry soldering joints or bulging capacitors. If a problem is seen resolder or replace necessary parts and try operation again.

yea it's about 2 years old., Any suggestion of how that could be fixed? or is it just finished?
my screen is fine for about 5 seconds, then it turns black.
Same problem & my unit is only 11/2 years old with minimal use (approx 10 hrs per week).
i have the same problem, its a brand new monitor, it only does the black screen thing when i use a digital cable and then it only does it if i leave the monitor off for a long time with the pc on, strange :S
Screen works for a few seconds then goes black. Green LCD light remains on. Can turn off, then on again, works for a few seconds. Rinse and repeat. Monitor is 2 years old.
I have a similar problem with my HU171D in which when I first open every morning I have to turn it on and off about 10 times now, at first it was only 3 times. It comes on for 5 seconds then goes to black screen. After it warms up, it seems fine. Mine however is about 5 years old and I love it! Not sure how to take apart though.
