Question about Cyberhome CH-LDV 707B Portable DVD Player
Doesn't play any cd
Check out the spindle motor ... i'll bet it is defective!
measure with a ohm-meter the impedance while gently and verry slowly turn the motor . I'll bet the impedance shows conciderable fluctuations . It should be always at the same ohms. about 10 ohms.

These units have a problem with the power supplies basically the same as a computers +5 +12 and a ground i usually throw them away unless i have a small p/s laying around that i can throw int them. usually one from an old external hard drive works quite nicely. if yor no mechanically minded w-mart sells them for around 29 bucks.

Is the cd spinning? If so it is most likely the Laser. Try to clean the lens "gently" Put a little light oil on the rails that the laser rides on. if that don't cure your problem then the laser is most likely burned out. Cost to replace would be more then that unit is worth These units are china made players that are considered throw aways
