Question about Computers & Internet
Hi i have a draytek router connected to a netgear pro switch which is connected to a safecom router (dhcp disabled) the network drive is connected to the safecom i can access the network drive fine via wireless but when i connect a computer via ethernet on the safecom i loose network connections the maxtor drive ethernet light keeps flashing and the safecom port lights keep blinking on and off if i remove the drive everything is fine and if i plug the drive back and remove the computer everything is fine. all ethernet cable are straight through and the netgear pro switch is auto sensing no crossover cables needed. its odd that thw wireless side works but not the wired side
Describe to me exactly how you are set-up. Include the IP addresses of each device and exactly what ports are being used on each device. Could like an IP mistake or in some cases an X-over cable is still required IF your switch does not have does not have a x-o button on it. But that depends how things are connected. These are the 2 most likely but need the above info to diagnose.
