Hi this is common most people have with new phones or a phone that they have changed the network on its easy problem to solve their are two ways you can go about this the first and easyest is by calling your service provider and then ask them to send you the settings they will send them via a text message and this will automatically update your phone just follow instructions on the message the second way is by going to your service providers website and their should be a link so as you can send the settings to your phone either way will work but if you get stuck let me know and i can assist you further ok

I cant send or receive picture messages?? If I cant send/receive them or send them then why does it say that its an option to?

Maybe you don't have MMS service, its a Multimedia Messaging Service, please subscribe to your provider to be able to send or receive picture and all sorts of multimedia.

How to activate & send mms in samsung s8000 mobile

you need to configure the mms settings from your internet menu... but you need the right configuration from your network provider to the settings..
to give you an idea, here's how you may do it.. from your phone, press menu select internet select browser profiles to lead you to internet profile settings.. from your settings, press create.  then create the mms profile your network preferred.  once created, press save and exit the settings for internet profiles..
to make the mms profiles be the default settings for your mms, do thes steps... from your phone, press menu select settings select phone applications select messages select multimedia from multimedia menu, select profiles assign the mms profiles you created for your multimedia. press save and exit the setup...
now to check if it's working, try sending a multimedia message to your own number to check if your phone can send and receive mms. once you successfully send it and received it, it means that your phone mms is already set and working...
take care..

Texts changing to a multimedia msg

Unfortunatly there is no EASY way to fix this Problem. The only thing that you can do really is to Upgrade your Cellular Package and Add Multimedia Unlimited-This should help with this Situation though!

When you receive the message with id and password, it usually means that either your phone is not multimedia messaging compatible or your account is not provisioned with the actual multimedia messaging feature itself.
If unable to send or receive a picture message (MMS), troubleshoot accordingly:
  1. Attempt to connect to MEdia Net on the device. Connectivity to MEdia Net confirms the device has enough signal strength and GPRS availability to send and receive MMS.
  2. Verify MMS is being sent to an AT&T subscriber. If MMS message is being sent to someone other then an AT&T wireless services subscriber, verify that the carrier is supported.
  3. Picture messaging settings are pre-configured on all devices purchased from AT&T. If the settings have been altered or if the device was not purchased from AT&T, validate picture message settings are properly configured.
  4. Attempt to send an MMS again.
  5. If further assistance is required, please contact Customer Care.

If problems occur, please perform the following troubleshooting steps:
  1. Verify device has signal strength.
  2. Check for a GPRS attach on the device.
  3. Verify the browser settings are correct.
  4. Clear the browser cache.
  5. Power cycle the device (turn off and back on).
  6. Attempt to access MEdia Net again.
  7. If unable to access a particular MEdia Net site, check to see if the site is supported by AT&T.
  8. If problem persists, please contact AT&T Customer Service for wireless customers.
