If your compressor is showing signs of seizing up or locked as its commonly known, the first thing you want to check is your start components. Be sure that your start components are operating properly.

Check your start capacitor as well as any start relays. If the capacitor is weak or the relay will not disengage after start-up, these could cause a breaker to trip or a compressor to draw LRA (locked rotor amps)

If your compressor is locked up and drawing LRA, you can attempt to break it free by the use of a start capacitor, a hard start kit, or a 5-2-1 kit. The hard start kit and 5-2-1 are the most common practices in the field.

A compressor locks up for a few reasons. The most common issue is lack of oil. This could be caused by a failure within the compressor itself. It could also be caused by a refrigerant flow issue, whether it be a low charge or pressure problems caused by failed metering devices.

Some compressors are weak, especially in the colder weather. And the use of a start component is required for start-up. While this is a rare problem, it does happen.

The use of an amp meter will tell you where to start looking. LRA ratings can be found on the unit dataplate.

Its quite possible it could be the start cap,(if the unit was running fine before) Your gonna want to check the connections to the cap first,(with the disconnect turned off first) If the connections are fine, you can install a booster capacitor To see if that won't kick it off.

H5 ERROR CODE IN BLUE STAR SPLIT INVERTER AC

The H5 error code in a Blue Star split inverter AC typically indicates that there is a problem with the outdoor unit. The outdoor unit is the part of the air conditioning system that is located outside the building and is responsible for releasing the heat absorbed from the inside of the building to the outside.
There are a few possible causes of the H5 error code:
  1. The outdoor unit's compressor might be malfunctioning. The compressor is the most important component of the outdoor unit and is responsible for compressing and circulating the refrigerant.
  2. The outdoor unit's fins might be dirty or obstructed. The fins are the thin metal blades that are responsible for releasing the heat absorbed from the inside of the building to the outside. If the fins are dirty or obstructed, the heat exchange process will be impaired, resulting in the H5 error code.
  3. The outdoor unit's fan motor might be malfunctioning. The fan motor is responsible for turning the fan blades that circulate the air over the fins. If the fan motor is not functioning properly, the H5 error code will be displayed.
To troubleshoot the H5 error code, you should start by checking the outdoor unit for any visible signs of damage or obstruction. If you do not see any obvious problems, you may need to call a professional HVAC technician to diagnose and repair the issue.

F95 error code - outdoor high pressure rise protection

This depends entirely on the environment you have your unit situated in. I would suggest getting a properly qualified and licensed technician to check your unit and see if it is working correctly in the environment you have it in. Maybe some adjustments for your climate are required.

Your unit should cool 15 to 20 degrees. 75 return air temp should be below 60 degree supply air temp. If you are not in this range you likely have a refrigerant problem.

Hi i have a lg split system air con model number lst243h-2 its nice and cold when i first turn on then its just like the fan is on its not cold at all

How long before it goes from cold to hot. The compressor could be not running and going out on overload. The condeser fan could have failed. Did you check the outdoor unit. Is it running? Is the fan running on the outdoor unit. It could be low on charge which would cause ice. Are you getting excessive condensation? Let me know and i can help you out more. Grab the large copper line outside that is insulated and tell me if it is cold. It should be cold like a Pepsi out of the fridge!

not sure if it is a package system or a split but this is what you do.go outside where your outdoor machine is, after it has been shut off for awhile, and you should hear 2 distinct noises.1 is the outdoor fan, you should see it spinning.the other is a comppressor hum.some compressors have noise bags on them so listen closely thru the fan noise.if you hear no hum listen for a hum about every 2 to 5 minutes.if you hear this hum every so often, chances are you compressor is seized or stuck.the only thing to do there is get a tech and try a big boost to get it going.
