How do yoou connect a wireless mouse to your computer

Connecting a wireless mouse to your computer is a great way to reduce clutter around your workplace.

Also, it is an alternative to using your laptop's directional pad.

Wireless mice work just as well as wired mice for most computing needs.

The only detail that wireless mice lack compared to wired mice is the DPI (dots per inch) and the frequency rate, which is essential to the "fast twitch" movements in gaming.

However, most people do not need highly responsive mice; therefore, wireless mice are perfect for any other computing activity other than gaming.

Insert batteries into your mouse.

If your mouse is rechargeable, charge it in the docking station provided with the mouse.

Buy a wireless adapter that works with your mouse. If your laptop is enabled with wireless technology or Bluetooth, skip to the next step.

Install the drivers for your mouse.

Reboot the computer to apply the changes.

Power on the mouse and let the computer recognize the new hardware. If you are using a mouse that requires software to run, enable the mouse in the software that is provided to you.

Hope this helps

Would like advise on how to install a wireless mouse on a laptop

Wireless mice come with a USB dongle and a wireless mouse. Install batteries in the mouse and plug in the USB dongle into 1 of your USB ports on your laptop while in Windows. Windows will detect the mouse and automatically install the software needed to communicate with the mouse. If Windows doesn't install this device automatically, try installing the drivers included on the driver CD.

I plugged my Logitech wireless mouse into my Toshiba laptop but it will not recognize it

You have to install the driver first then you have to plug it in the Laptop. Also check if your operating system is listed in the supported OS list of the mouse.

I purchased a HP laptop, Windows 7. I installed

You have to install the software that came with the wireless mouse. I have several, and some will and others won't work without the software. That is 90% what it is.

I have a dynex wireless optical mouse but my laptop will not recognise it

Have you installed the driver for the mouse? Did you install it before actually attaching the mouse's USB receiver? The driver should be installed first. You can download it here:

http://www.dynexproducts.com/productSearch.html?query=wireless+optical+mouse&mainSearchButton=

Scroll down to "Dynex Wireless Optical Mouse" and click on "English" next to "Driver:" in order to download it.

If you've already installed the driver and your computer still won't recognize the mouse, press the Connect button on the receiver, wait for the light to flash, and then press the Connect button on the mouse. The light should stop flashing and the mouse should be ready to use.

I have installed wireless soft ware but mouse not doing anything

Normally you don't have to install the software, your computer has tons of drivers and software already built in. When plugging it in did your pc install the drivers and say your device is installed ready to be used? If its a cordless mouse make sure the batteries are good and some of them have a learning button you have to press then use the mouse so the receiver recognizes the mouse. Also if there in interference it will cause the mouse not to work , You never want to put the rec. on top of the tower (causes interference). and if all else fails it could just be a bad mouse kit. Take and swap for another.
