mute is not activated and there are no speaker wires to be connected to the speaker jack - the speakers are built in to the monitor panel - still no sound

My wife's HP vs 19e monitor only flashes once at the power button, when turned on..this monitor is only 13 months old,,obviously these are flutes. I tried the monitor on my pc ,,i switched all connections, new power strip, everything.....i would think from the feedback, that by now HP knows that this is a very poorly built monitor. Are there any fixes available.

    I presently run 4 P.C's..i don't think that in the future i'll be purchasing any H P monitors,,although my 17 works great.

    What a Christmas gift..that won't happen again.

my HP monitor vs19e speakers are not working..there is no sound. Mute is not on. volume is full, the wire is connected. but still there is no sound.

It says there is no hardware in it.

There was sound before, then our computer had a virus n stuff, Then we downloaded Windows XP media center, n since then i cant hear any sound whatsoever ..

    what do i do?!

A friend of mine had the same problem with her HS19e. Monitor went totally dark. No power light, no menu nothing.

I took it apart and checked it out. Fuse was fine, all the electrolytic caps tested OK as far as I can tell, nothing obvious wrong, just no power coming off the main power board to the electronics.

Must be a fundmental problem with the P.S. on these monitors.

I'm afraid if you've googled and searched and found this (like I did), you are out of luck. It's dead and not worth the money to have fixed because you can buy a new one cheaper than it would take to have this serviced. HP Parts depot shows there are three parts available, new power cord, new VGA cord and a new speaker cord...thanx a lot.

Obviously I'm not that impressed with HP now. What a waste of time :(

It is because there are 3 power caps that failed on the power board, is a common issue with this monitor, im writing this on one that had the same issue, just get new caps from radio shack and solder them in and your are good to go

Try to see maybe it is mute or inspect the connection of your speaker to your audio jack.i think there is loose contact of your speaker.

I recently bought a Hp Lcd w1907 Monitor off craigslist, the screen worked fine for about an hour then went black, button stays blue. Now every time I power on the monitor it stays lit for 3 seconds...

hi the cause is screen back light not working properly. you need to remove the back cover of the monitor to access the internal part of the monitor. then look for the connector of the cold cathode fluorescent tube back light going to the power inverter board of the back light you will noticed a dry joints which cause a loose connection that is why you hear a sound that cause of spark. you need to re soldered the connector or replaced if totally burned.

My HP vs19e monitor takes almost 5 minutes to "wake up". Works fine once running. It never took this long before. Any ideas?

most common problem is bad electrolytic capacitors if unit is a few years old. Take it apart and replace any swollen, ie bulging top of the aluminium can... but may be 'off-value' if not swollen. Any electronics from China will fail within 3 years due to bad electrolytic caps..

My HP vs19e monitor is displaying a flashing screen with lines. When I reboot it does the same thing.

Hi

Thank you for your query

Please try the following

1) Degauss the monitor- this can be found when you cycle through the menu options in your monitor
2) Please try the monitor in another PC to rule out VGA card issue
3) If there is a sepearte VGA lead going from the monitor to the back of the PC, please replace this

If the above 3 fails then unfortunatley it is a hardware fault, it may be prudent for you to replace rather than repair

If this has been useful please leave positive feedback/vote/testimonial as this will help me greatly - Thank You again

I want to replace the power switch board on my hp vs19e monitor.

About your only hope for getting a replacement switch is to buy a "Parts Only" monitor off of EBay and carefully remove the switch. This one is tricky it's attached to the front bezel as you've likely found out. When you disassemble the monitor, lay it face down and remove the bac plastic then remove the 4 screws holding the button board on then take the rest apart. That's the safest way.

No, because it sounds like the backlight has blown. These LCD monitors utilize a backlight, just like the florecent bulbs we see in office buildings. Alot smaller! These things can be repaired, but by the time you figure out how and when you track down the bulbs you would have purchased a new for all of that time. But they can be repaired!
