I have a Nikon COOLPIX L3 Digital Camera and everything was working good until suddenly the screen went blank. Now I can't see anything when taking pictures and using video. I am hoping it's just a minor problem and can easily get fixed. I would appreciate any advice from one of the experts on here. Thank you for your time.

Re: Screen will not work
Screen going blank is one of three things - Screen backlight failed In which case you would see dim 'shadow images' A simple connector failure- where by massaging the camera near the base the the case 'May' get it back in. A Mainboard failure.

A sudden jolt like that can damage the working parts of the lens, and or the internal connections. What can happen is that the small connectors can become unhooked and lose conductivity. If that happens, then you various controls or all controls will quit. Because the screen is blank or black, it could also mean that the LCD is broken.
This sounds like a broken or cracked LCD screen. The backlite is working, thus you will get the white screen. The LCD could also be disconnected internally, or has other problems. But this is a direct problem with the LCD. A camera like this can usually take pictures, and you may be able to use it to set the menus by using the video cable to the TV or computer screen (some flat screens have video inputs).
