the problem it has is the software seems to either have a problem or the mapping itself is the problem, if you bought the device brand new from a shop like halfords, then you will have the TomTom 1 year warranty, but you need your reciept for it to be authorised. if you have done a back up of the device previously on tom tom home then you can format it and it may back up ok.
alternatively go into any Halfords or other store and speak to the specialists and they'll give you any info they can give.
it wont find one unless you are out doors or it is really foggy out turn the unit off go out doors and it should find one with in 5 min. or less hope this helps you.
