Just buy one universal remote control, which have these setup codes. Brand isn't a matter. You can get this detail, by the code list, the remote control will have.
Code should be in the userguide or something that was delivered with your Toshiba VCR, otherwhise a code should be in a guide of the universal remote, if not, then try finding the code by using google like this : 'universal remote code for Toshiba VCR *type here the specific vcr type* ' That should work;)
I was able to find the MSN TV Set Up Guide Manual online. Within it was the list of codes for various brands of TVs. One of those for Toshiba TV was in bold print. I used the instructions for entering the code and used that bold printed code. The remote worked both the Toshiba TV and the MSN TV2 unit after that code was entered. Apparently the remote had lost the original code somehow.

3 whilst holding set button press and release power button
4 release set button
5 press tv button on controll
6 using key pad key in code
7 press enter button
8point remote at telly
9 press power button c if it works
