Check your needle, it may need to be changed (make sure you insert it flat side away from you), now totally rethread, Another thing, is your thread old, tangled? If, all of this does not fix it, take it in for professional service.
Here are some things that may fix the problem:
1. First, replace the needle
2. Next, remove the thread and completely rethread the machine
3. Remove the bobbin, clean any lint or thread from around the bobbin, and replace it.
Try sewing again on scrap fabric.
I hope this helps.
1.check needle to see if it's bent or blunt end
2.check bobbin & bobbin case for lint or loose thread
3.could be a timming problem- would have to be serviced
Check the needle - is it bent. Is it in backwards (flat side to the back is correct), or is it threaded from the back to the front instead of from the front to the back.
Check the bobbin to be sure the thread is feeding in the proper direction and the thread is not caught in the cover for the bobbin area.
If none of this helps, then the machine needs to go into the shop for service.
Possibly the needle is inserted incorrectly. This machine thread front to back so the flat side of the needle needs to be on the back of the machine. sewman7
I recently fixed my wife maching with the same problem. I found that the screw had come loose that holds the linkage together that rotates the bobbin holder. I was fortunate enough to notice the screw while looking at the machine. To replace it requires taking both the front and back covers off of the frame since the bobbin holder linkage is in the rear behind the needle area. Be careful to insure that the plastic toothed "rail" that runs the bobbin holder is positioned properly or it may break off a tooth. Once I replaced the screw and put the machine back together, it picked up the thread with no problem.
Hope this helps.
