Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

1 Answer

Moto Razr v3

I just opened a brand new phone, with a brand new battery sealed in a plastic bag. I put the battery in to charge it at least 7 hours ago, and am still getting a red flashing battery. The screen says 'charging battery', but after this long, shoudn't there at least be SOME charge? It just seems like it's not doing anything. Thanks for your help!

The phone is new as well . . . so this is the first battery that has been in it. I just wondered if it should take that long to charge even being a new battery. Thanks for your help! :)

If theres no problem with your phone charging on its original battery before you replace it. the problem lies with the new battery you purchase, just replace it, coz some batteries are due to factory defects.

ah I see, the battery that came with your phone is pre-charge, what I did is fully discharge the battery. I used it until my phone can't be turned on, then I charge it 24 hours to fully maximize the battery. if this doesn't work, your battery is faulty, return it coz it still have warranty.

A brand new Samsung GT-S5233S is unable to charge low batteries. Salesman said the battery is too low and it can be charged only through universal battery charger. Any expert advice on this issue.

Hi. Thanks for using fixya.
The salesman is correct. Cell phone batteries need a "boost" sometimes when they are really dead. You can purchase a universal charger at a local store or order it real cheap on ebay. The battery will have to be charged outside of the phone.
Another way to get your battery going again is to put it in the freezer.
1)Place the battery in a seal-able plastic bag and place it in the freezer. This plastic bag protects the battery from condensation.
2)Allow the battery to freeze for 24 hours. Remove the battery from the freezer and allow it to thaw for 4 to 8 hours
3)Return the battery to the phone and turn the phone on. Make sure the battery is no longer cold before returning it to the phone.

This will revive your battery also. But for a new phone, I recommend getting a universal charger. U wont have to use it often. Its just to "jump-start" the battery.
I hope your battery works soon.

    Phone wont turn on!

i have noticed that the mini plug for the charger and usb connection on RAZR V3 is sometimes sloppy. when the phone is charging it will definitely say battery charging on the external display and also flash the battery icon. i also noticed that the plug for the wall outlet is touchy.
make sure the plug is secure in the wall outlet
make sure the mini plug is secure in the phone
gently wiggle these connections if you have to till you get the battery charging message
if there are any connection problems there will be a unable to charge message instead.

Motorola RAZR V3 No signal (bars)

I had the same problem with my phone- i got a cheap generic battery to replace the old one (which wasn't holding a charge for a full day, at that) and then i lost all signal, basically. I tried what scm_pa said he did - charged my old battery up, with the phone off, till the charge was complete- turned the phone on, and voila, reception!
