INSTALLED NEW LAMP IN THE SHARP XV-Z2000, BUT THE LAMP TIMER WOULD NOT RESET. I ALSO FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS TO A TEE - 3 TIMES. THE UNIT IS NOW BEING SERVICED AND I WILL ADVISE RESULTS.

Thanks for the info, but unfortunately it still doesn't work. One question I had though was whether or not Needs_help99 pressed any of the buttons simultaneously or were they pressed and released before pressing the next button in the sequence.

    Thanks again for the inputs

I have a Sharp DT-400, which I believe is identical to XV-Z2000 except for case color. I have changed the lamp and tried several times to reset the lamp timer without success. Immediately after putting in the A/C power cord, I push the "on" button (how long should I wait?), then input, then output, then left arrow, then enter, then right arrow, then on again. After pushing the output button a message comes on saying that an invalid button has been pushed, and this repeats for the next several button pushes. Finally, after 15 seconds, the yellow warning to change the lamp comes on again (the same warning I got last night that caused me to change the lamp after 95% of its lifetime).

Is there a problem with running the projector with the lamp
timer not reset? Will it fail to work after it gets to zero? How do I get it to reset? The authorized repairman's office is about 90 minute drive from where I live and I usually have to wait for a week to get something fixed.

I also replaced the lamp in my xv-z2000 and could not reset the timer,I kept using it until the yellow "replace lamp indicator" turned red, then the projector switches to standby and wont turn on.Im about to send it to a repair facility

You must do each step separately and quickly, within about one second for each step. After trying many things, this worked (solution offered by Sharp technician after three calls to Sharp)

I have this same problem, even trying the experts without help on the sharp DT-400.

I unplug my cord, waited for 5 minutes, then reconnect cord holding the power button at same time, released, then proceded with input, left arrow, enter, right arrow and depress power button again holding for 15 seconds, then released. projector warmed up showing the  "0000H" on the bottom left of screen...that's how mine worked today.

REF My entry 3/25/08. I just got back my SHARP XV-Z2000 from the service organization. They did not fully specify what they did, but what was on the repair ticket was "reprogrammed" the projector. When I re-installed the projected the counter was not set back to zero. I then used the manual and followed the instructions for "resetting the lamp timer" (making sure I again followed the instructions to the tee), and the lamp timer RESET to zero. I made sure that I had a blue screen, I then selected as follows:

ON --- INPUT --- UNDO --- < --- ENTER --- > --- ON

Make sure you "depress" the left arrow < -- then ENTER -- then right arrow >. Good Luck

You must do it immediately after connecting the AC power cord.

I am replacing the bulb on my sharp xv-z2000 projector. i replaced it fine but the power light and the bulb light both stay red and i cant even turn the projector on. how do you reset the projector?

Two red lights indicate a problem with the lamp circuitry, i.e. the ballast. This requires a service center to change out a circuit board. Given the cost, it might be time to look for a new projector.

How do I reset...followed instructions but still will not turn on

Do any lights come on when you plug in the power cord? If the power and lamp lights both glow red, the problem may be in the "ballast" circuit. The projector will have to go to a service center.

Just changed the lamp in our Sharp DLP Projector, lamp indicator

You don't mention whether the power light is on as well. IF you are seeing red lights for both power and lamp, there is a problem with the circuitry, beyond just the lamp. unfortunately this is very common. The unit will likely need a new ballast circuit.

SHARP XV-Z91E Projector Replaced lamp but

hold down menu, enter, and down arrow, then press power. this is the only way to reset the lamp timer. if it won't turn on and there are no leds lit, you may have to reset the bimetal breaker. to do so, remove the 6 bottom screws and the top 2 screws on the back panel, and remove the top case. on the front side of the lamp housing, you will see a red button. press it. if it clicks, it is reset. if it doesn't, it wasn't tripped, and you have a power supply issue.

Blue instead of red colour afer replacing lamp in sharp xv-z2000

You didn't put your 3-D glasses on backwards, did you? :)

Seriously, if you are using the component inputs, be sure the three cables didn't get mixed up when you put the projector back. Otherwise, you might have an issue with the color wheel inside the projector, but I doubt it.

I also had this issue - followed the On, Input, Undo, Left, Enter, Right, On button sequence several times. Then I decided to push them in that sequence very quickly and it worked. The lamp LED on the front changed to green and the projector started up. So the button sequence they provide in the manual works, you just have to push them in rapid succession. Hope that helps.
