PRESS THE RESET BUTTON, then wait. pull the card out and reinsert, or pull the battery and then reinsert. 1 of these will make the sludge work. lol.Merry Christmas!

SOURCE: upload footage off video camera to laptop

The simplest way to save the video to your laptop (note that you won't be able to view it from there) is to buy a cheap USB card-reader that handles SDHC cards - about US$10 - and simply pop the card out of the camera into the reader. You'll see the card and all files as a new drive. You can also play the video from the card in the card reader.

SOURCE: Hi, I have a Panasonic HDC-SD9.

http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/HDCSD9-MUL.PDF
THi sis the manual if you need to study it for anything ..and for the reset I extracted the part that you need to do ...You actually have to press the reset located under the lcd...So flip the lcd..and locate the button and press it using a sharp object or the end of the belt..

Remove the card if it still makes the same ..infact you can remove the card ..than reset ,,and if it makes the same when you insert the card ..format it in the laptop after saving pictures and videos..cause it may have something on it that is incompatible with the camera ..After reinserting it ..format it again in the camera ..

Unable to transfer film from my new Panasonic HDC - SD9

Picasa can read and play AVCHD! It's free from Google. Simply connect your sd card and import. To edit it I've used Adobe Premiere Elements 7 but the image outputs as mpeg which degrades it slightly. Another option is to try the latest Roxio or Nero which will all play and decode AVCHD files. The soflware from Panasonic is rubbish!
Good luck and ask if you've any more questions......
