Question about Toshiba Satellite A105 Notebook

1 Answer

A105-S4164 I am out of town and don't have the manual to my computer. My brother in law put the photo card from his Sony Cybershot into the wrong slot (port)? on the computer. He inserted it in the one immediately below and to the left of the silver onthe top of the handrest below the drive and operational lights. How can we get it out or should we even try? What goes there anyway and where do we hook the computer and camera together to download photos into my computer??HELP!!! I waited a long time for a good computer and I hope we haven't messed anything up. Lost in S.C.

Even the smallest needle nosed pliers would not open in this small of an area. We tried tweezers and this didn't work. Could you tell me where to get a pair of pliers this small?

Thanks for your information. I have spoken to Toshiba and the card should push in and click and double click (spring loaded I guess to remove the memory card). They will call me or email me by morning to tell me an authorized repair facility to take the computer to since it is still under warranty.

Thanks again for trying to help me. We wouldn't have dared attempted to take the computer apart. All we did was to try with small tweezers very flat out of a Swiss Army knife to get hold of the card. I think we will leave it up to the factory reps. that way if there is a problem the warranty will cover it for me.

To get the card out use a pair of needle nose plyers. Try not to smash the card. With the notebook opened & you facing it. Turn the notebook so your looking at the left side there is an iLink port to hook up your camra. I'll make this easer. Click the link below. Its a video tour of your notebook. This will help you see what is what.
You can get all the information you need including the manual downloaded to your notebook from this link.

If you couldn't reach the card with a pair of tweezers than I doubt that the card can be removed without doing some disassembling. It would be better to wait & have it serviced by a pro who will be able to see just what is taking place so as not to damage the notebook or the card.

If anyone opends the notebook, (it's new) that can void the warranty.

Can I upgrade my notebook's CPU in my toshiba A105-S4164?

yes you can, but dont know what good it would do, you should be more concerned with ram - nowdays minimum is 2gb, 1 if you know how to manage resources like a pro,you can buff up to 4, but you cant change your graphics card and that is a bigger issue...

Need disc for sony cybershot dsc s730

You don't need any software to use your camera.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what said first, you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.
You may download the instruction manual and more here.

Hello, i removed my memory stick and when i tried to reinsert it it does not go in, seems to be jamming half way in....please help

Your card may have broken a small piece off inside the camera. Take your unit to an authorized Sony service center and see if they can take a look at that for you. Don't try putting anything in there as you might cause damage to the memory card slot (which is usually part of the main circuit board that controls most of your camera's functions). Hope this helps!

I own a Sony Cybershot DSCW350 and when I put my sony memory card in, the camera on/off button, settings buttons, and shutter button stop working completely and the lcd portion is the only part that stays...

You might try to re clean the card with a smooth cloth that is used for cleaning DVD`s also clean the slot on your camera... sounds like you might have got something on the card or in the camera slot.. you can also trying cleaning them with a little rubbing alcohol.. not much.. let them dry.very good then re clean them with the smooth cloth.. if this doesn't work you might be able to get your pictures by tacking them to a photo shop and see if your card is bad.. This happens if the memory card is a small storage card.. I have had this happen to me.. Hope this helps you. T.

Sony Cybershot DSC-W35 Camera doesn't detect the USB cable

You dont need the disc to download to computer.Take the card from the camera and put it into the card reader on your computer if one is fitted, if not you need one that goes into a USB slot When the card is inserted into the reader a box will open on the screen with several options as to view images or download them.

I would also download Picasa 3 which puts your photos in date order and also has photo editing. This is a free download and is part of google.

No reason why it shouldn't take anything that's currently available. Just be sure to get a SATA 2.5" drive.

How do U upload photosfrom my computer to my sony cyber shot DSC-S500

I'm not sure that you can upload photos from the computer to the camera. i have never seen a camera you could do that with. The only way you might be able to do it is if you are using a sony memory card in your camera and you took the memory card out of the camera and put it in a memory card reader connected to your computer. Put the photos from your computer on to your memory card and then put the memory card back in the camera.
