Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Internet Explorer 7

Hi.
I am writing this from another computer. The thing is that I have Packard Bell Imedia 4310 and yesterday I got suddenly a problem with Internet Explorer. When I double click on the icon on desktop I get: Page not found. And even if I go to another page I get the same message all the time. The strange thing is that there is no problem with internet connection. I can for example send and receive e-mails, call by Skype and so on. But I cannot use Internet Explorer. I have version 7. When I click on diagnostik it says following: Check firewallsettings for HTTP-port (80), HTTPS-port (443) and FTP-port (21). Could you help me with this? Thank you.

Well depending on what version of windows this is. Try disabling any Firewalls you may have up by either windows or Antivirus programs.

you could try going to your add/remove programs and go to WINDOWS Components, remove Windows explorer and then re-installing it by using the windows CD. If all this fails, remove the update and go back to IE6.

Judging by the message your getting though, it seems you may have yourr windows firewall set to high on restrictions. Or you have more than one and there blocking you. make sure IE7 isnt set as a Blocked program.

You could also use windows restore to go back to an earlier date before the issues started. If you can get online, i would run WINDXP updates and make sure to get any of the important ones.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

HI THERE MY PACKARD BELL 2215 IMEDIA WILL NOT BOOT UP. iT WAS WORKING PERFECTLY THEN IT CRASHED NOW IT STARTS, FANS SOUND, BUT THEN IT SWITCHES OFF, ANYONE HELP? X

Sounds like an overheating problem. Clean the dust out of it, make sure it can get air on all sides, make sure the fans are turning. If that doesn't work, unplug the computer, hit the power button 20 times, wait 1/2 hour and boot it up.
