When I try to put pictures on my computer a message pops up saying "An error has occurred during hardware installation. Your new hardware might not work properly." I have been using the Cyber-shot Viewer program for a few years, this just recently happened, I tried uninstalling and re-installing the program but it didn't do anything, still have the same problem...What Do I Do??? :(

Re: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W50
I actually htink the problem is with your camera.
There might be a problem with the communication between the camera and your computer`s usb port.
Check if the camera connects to a friend`s PC. If it does, you need to take the camera in for service.
9 times out of 10 I have found a shorted fuse on the main baord to the usb port. This should be a inexpensive repair, unless you need to replace the main baord. In which case first determine the value of the old camera versus a new model.

backup all your images onto a computer.
turn on the camera, go to HOME, then go to MANAGE MEMORY and click on MEMORY TOOL. next click on FORMAT.
this will solve the problem! make sure u back up ur pics coz by formatting u will erase entire memory.
Hi! It's a flash error. Could be flash fuse or flash board. If you have a multimeter and you're ready to open it, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact your local Sony service center. I work in a Sony service center.
When “FLASH error” (Self-diagnosis Code E : 91 : ** ) occurs, to prevent any abnormal situation caused by high voltage, setting of the
flash is changed automatically to disabling charge and flash setting.
After fixing, this setting needs to be deactivated. Flash error code can be initialized by the operations on the Setup screen.
Method for Initializing the Flash Error Code
Initializes the setting to the default setting.
1 Select [OK] with v on the control button, then press z.
The message “Initialize all settings Ready?” appears.
2 Select [OK] with v, then press z.
The settings are reset to the default setting.
• Make sure that the power is not disconnected during resetting.
If you have a recent operating system, there's a possibility it will recognise the camera if youjust plug it in. If it does recognise it, it will install the correct driver and run a wizard to help you get the pictures on your computer.
