Question about Canon MultiPASS C2500 InkJet Printer

Error on screen INSTALL CARTRIDGE

I put in a new print cartridge and it still gives me this error.

The only thing I noticed prior to this error is that an old cartridge dumped ink inside on the right where the cartridges go back and forth. So I cleaned it with a Qtip and rubbing alcohol and I got all the ink out but I also got a little bitty felt pad came out too.

I haven't gotten this printer to work with XP but I still would like to received faxes, I can send faxes but I can't scan or print.

The BEST slution is GENUINE original cartridges. There is an eclectronic communicator on the cartridges and that "TELLS" the printer thet the current cartridges are not GENUINE ones. Untill you have replaced these cartridges with the GENUINE ones you will always get these error messages

did you remove the tape seal over the ink port of the new cartridge?
are you getting any error messages?
did you aline the printer in the printer tools?
just some things to check

OMG! The cartridges are so expensive. I've tried to refill the cartridge myself and it put up an error message too. The only thing i did was splurge and bought a new cartridge!! Sorry.

I've got the Epson Stylus DX 8400 printer. when I put the cartridge,this message come up: "ink cartridges cannot be recognized." txs


I had the same problem too.  I went to the Epson website and they gave instructions to shake the cartridge 4-5 times prior to installing.   It worked!!!  I tried alot of things before I saw that I needed to shake the cartridge.  Definitely give this a try if you haven't already.

ERROR CODE 3813


After I took out PrintHead and tried to clean it up again, I put it back in with Ink Cartridges and got error code 3813 - also couldn't fix it. Removed Ink Cartridges, turned printer off. Turn back on and it will forget about error code 3813 and will tell you to install Ink cartridges. Do that and error code 3813 is gone and ready to print.

A note: I did not find anything telling me I have to change printhead but my problem with black ink printing still exists so I will get new printhead and see if that problem gets fixed.

Ink cartridge problem


Complete the following instructions:
  1. Power off your All-in-One.
  2. Use both hands to lift up the scanner unit until the scanner support holds it open.
  3. Turn the All-in-One on. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-in-One is busy.
  4. Remove the color print cartridge.
  5. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  6. If the error message reappears, replace the black print cartridge with a new print cartridge.
    If it does not repeat steps 1-3 and then go to step 7.
  7. Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black print cartridge.
  8. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  9. If the error message occurs again, replace the color cartridge.
  10. If an error message reappears, repeat steps 1-3 and reinstall both print cartridges.
  11. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  12. If you receive the error message again, replace both cartridges.

Dell photo 924 ink cartridge problems


Hi ,
if you are getting the msg color cartridge missing , maku sure that it is compatible with your printer , on the cartridges you will get the part no M4646/J5566 , look for those part no's and if it is giving the error msg on the LCD display of the printer , try using the old cartridge ...try the following steps
1) put the old cartridge in and then unplug the power adapter (Black box ) from the printer.

2) wait for 30 seconds and put back the power adapter and turn on the printer, and look for the msg on the printer display. if it gives the same error msg with the old as well as the new color cartridge then its an issue with the printer , and if it does not gives the error msg with the older one then its an issue with the cartridge and if you have purchase the cartridge from dell online/phone then call them back give the order no of the cartridge that u have purchased and they will replace it.

Print cartridge error .


check the contacts, make sure they are clean and compare to the old cartridge.
Put old one back in to see if message goes away, if it does then the problem is with the cartridge itself (defective chip or contact).

Hi, You need to get a new ink cartridge. It is really not recommended to refill ink cartridges but if you do then it is advisable not to exceed 3 times because it could damage the printer head. If the new inks still gives error, then your printer head may need to be checked to see if it needs replacing. Good luck!
