Not printing from computer

Computer is recognizing printer however, the printer is not printing

    Selphy CP720 prints fine when my mmory card is plugged directly into the printer, but i can't print from my Mac laptop. Printer driver has been successfully installed. Printer seems to recognize the connection to the laptop, but when I go to print something, it pulls in a sheet of printer paper, then stops and nothing more happens.

Changed the ink cartridge and now the printer doesn't recognize the computer.It says the printer is idle. What do I do?


A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

No computer of mine recognizes this printer and the left drip light keeps blinking even though i have repalced it


If by referring to the left drip light you mean the bottom left light; this is the indicator light for the color ink cartridge:
Left print cartridge light blinks, Power light on. Tri-color print cartridge is damaged or missing.
? Reinstall the print cartridge. If the error persists, replace the print cartridge.

? You can still print with one cartridge


it is possible that once the computer and printer are communicating that the error messages could also be resolved by running the printer diagnostic program.


If your computers do not recognize the printer, uninstall the driver, if you had installed a specific driver, and then go to the site below to download a driver for your operating system and specific printer:

The printer won't open the printer connection.


Most printers do not open a connection. Computers open the connection. Has something changed from the way it worked before? Go to Control panel......printers and other hardware.......printers, to find out if the printer is recognized by the computer. If not, click on "add a printer". If it is recognized, you should be able to print. Put a few words on Wordpad, and click on "print".

I have a Lexmark 5490 connected to a D-Link DPR-1260. The D-Link configuration utility installs the printer on my Vista Home Premium laptop as the default printer and recognizes that the printer is...


Check your windows firewall or your antivirus.
Disconnect that for a while and delete all pending documents (queue).

Send a new doc to print and see what happen.
Usually those program are blocking the communication between printer and computer.
If this is your case, set a rule on your antivirus program.

All in One Printer/Scanner/Copier will not respond to print command.


Pls make sure that your computer recognizes your Printer, if it doesn't it would never respond to any print command you sent
check to see (if the computer recognizes)
1- go to start then select printer
2- select your desired printer - right click
3- go to properties
4- select print PRINT TEST PAGE
5- check the message on your paper

if it doesnt then you might have installed a wrong driver

If you can print, than it is possible the computer has recognized plug-play (PnP) printer. The downloaded program may not be the one for your specific printer.
