Re: Error code 2 And 7 . How to solve
The ink absorber is a pad located at the bottom of the purge unit if
you cannot find a Canon representative i can help you reset to you
would be able to use it just follow these steps
-Plug the power cord in
-Press the Power button and hold it down when it lights up press Resume
twice still holding down the power button then release both buttons
-Wait momentarily when "0" appears on the display press resume 4 times
then press the power button wait about a 2 second then press the power
button 2 more times and your printer should be usable again

In this case unplug the power supply from the Printer........... 1. Open the Printer Cover.......... 2. Remove both the Catridges from the Printer............ 3. Move the Catridge Carrier which holds the catridge from right to left and from left to right for about 10 times............ 4. Try to make a copy without the catridges........If this works and it gives a Blank Page out............ 5. Insert both the catridges turn the printer off and turn it on again........... 6. Now it should work fine........ Good Luck......
In addition to having the ink system failure error 0xc18a0001, my
printer screen also read improper shutdown. After trying most of the
above solutions with no success, I did a search for the improper
shutdown problem. This is where I found my solution!
The solution is under "Printer will not start" the solution post is by
speters9971. "...you can try a sem-full reset to factory default
conditions by 1.
unplugging the power cord while the printer is powered on and 2. press
and hold the OK and Cancel buttons while plugging in the power cord."
This is what solved my problem after hours of searching &
repetitive similar solutions!!! The above solutions did not help; some
of them seemed to be incomplete or irrelevant for my model. I have a
HP Photosmart 3210 All-in-One.
The most usual solution of this error is to change the catridges ( both ). But it also can't work in some cases. In that case try to locate the protective tape on the catridges. If the tape gives off a sticky stuff onto the catridge contact, the error can come. Try removing the sticky material.
Thank you Sir, Have a nice day.
if you pulled the paper out of a jam and it was not done correclty 5100 is a Carriage Home Position Error. try cleaning the plastic strip that runs the length of the carriage, it may be contaminated. Use alcohol and a swab. Check the lever for the catridge. sometime the
catridge does sit properly in the carriage and it will hitt the
side of the front cover when it moves. Push the catridge in place to try
solve the problem.
In this Case just unplug the Power Supply from the Printer...........
Remove both the catridges from the Printer........
Move the Catridge carrier which holds the catridge back and forth for abt 20 times as fast as u can....
Now Turn the Printer On it will work fine.........
It happpens when the Catridge is unable to Communicate with the Printer.............
In this case what i would request you to do is...............
Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer
When u remove the cover of the Printer behing the Catridge carrier which holds the catridges u will see a thin long transparent strip which looks like a Tap...........
Take a Dry Paper Towel and Gently wipe that tape from right to the left it is very delicate so pls do it gently............
Now Take out both the Catridges from the Printer..............
Move the Catridge carrier which holds the catridge, From right to the Left and From Left to Right for abt 10 Times...............
Now u can insert both the catridges in and Turn On the Machine..........
I had refilled the catrige, then when I start to print a 'service
error' window will appear. At the LCD screed shows E.. 4 ..2. I believe
the printer simply assume the catridge is depleted, but how can it
happened as I already just refilled it. How to make printer detected
the catridge as a full? I really hope you can solve and make my
refilling mission succesful and my printer work again.
Hi Jakabi. That error code means there's a defective module in the printer. It's not user replaceable, unfortunately. The only solution is to contact the store where you bought it, or Canon's tech support to get a replacement.
That comes directly from Canon support ! I know it isn't what you'd like to hear, but unfortunately it's the only way out of it.
Thanks ! cheebster.
