Hi i have a dual cd player, it was working fine but when i took out the cd and put another one it just started ticking and did not read it, i tried it with multiple cds but with the same problem and some times the cd doen't go it all the way. do u have any idea on what's wrong with it??
There may be a small obstruction inside or underneath the cd tray preventing it from closing all the way.[a piece of something may have broken inside] this may sound stupid, but you can try shaking the unit and listening for something loose or rattelling, and try to have it fall out while the cd tray is open. [i recently had this problem] check also for the cd tray to align properly when closing into it's opening.
hope this helps.

Mine did the same thing. I took the cover off and took the radio
apart. I discovered the FM/AM tuning crystal was separated from the
mother board (soldering failed). Anyway, when figured out where the
crystal went I reinserted it and it worked great. I considered gluing it
back in but opted to test my soldering skills and it worked out just
fine. The crystal is a small silver electrical component with 2 prongs
that plug into the motherboard.
The laser has gone weak. If you feel confident taking it apart, unplug it and look for a small potentiometer on the CD reading pickup. Turn it to the right to about 700 ohms, it should start reading again. If you don't have a multimeter to measure it then get one, a basic $10 meter will do fine.
I havena't done anything much except to take all the cd's out and have put in the 1st which always worked fine. Then I put in a 2nd and at first it did not want to work. It sounded like a cell phone breaking up. I turned it off completely. And this a.m. both are doing fine. I will try the 3rd and 4th a little later today and hopefully they will work.
