QuickBooks Pro 2003 can run on Windows Vista. Right-click a shortcut to open Quickbooks (or qbw32.exe directly) and click on Properties. Select the Compatibility tab. Under Compatibility Mode, check the box and select Windows XP (Service Pack 2) from the list. Under privilege level, select "Run this program as an administrator." Select OK and everything will work.

I installed Quickbooks regular 2006 last February on my PC which has Vista. I had the same error messages - but when I phoned up and spoke to support they told me that i needed to open the pC in safe mode and then open QB that way. I then had no more problems (until my computer crashed a few months ago) and I can't remember what to do. But it is possible!!! (unless they are just trying to sell the upgrades .

My installation went exactly the same way. I called Intuit and they said that 2003 pro is not Vista compatible and that I could up grade my version for the low low price of $179!

Version 2003 is not Vista compliant at all. When MS made Vista, it changed the manner in which data is handled by windows. The Qb 2003 program was not coded to work in that environment, and the company is not going to change the older programs to mak them Vista compliant.

I am having problems with my QuickBooks Pro 2001 program. It will not update and it will not recognize the drives for a restore.

We would need to know the actual error message it is giving. Sometimes you are dealing with damaged installs, and running Reboot.bat from the program folder will fix it.

I am installing quickbooks 2011 Pro and keep getting Error code 3371 status code 1

The 3371 error means that the software couldn't read the license information. possibly due to an incomplete install. You need to reenter the license; you may need to do a full uninstall and reinstall. Have the license available before starting.

First try just deleting the license file:
Close Quickbooks if it is open. Depending on your OS, search for the hidden folder with the license file and delete EntitlementDataStore.ecml . (You may need to enable viewing of the hidden folders. This is accessed via the File Explorer. Double click the Computer (My Computer in XP) icon (or Start > Control Panel > Computer) to open the explorer. Click on Organize and go to the Folders and search options. In the View tab, select Show hidden folders.) For Windows Vista or Win 7, search for C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v6.0 . In XP, you need the folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v6.0 . Just select the file and choose delete then confirm the delete command. Launch Quickbooks and follow the on-screen directions for registering the program.

The MSXML 4 software may be damaged or missing. This program is on the CD; however it may be better to download it from Microsoft, http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=7F6C0CB4-7A5E-4790-A7CF-9E139E6819C0&displaylang=en . Try to repair the software with the command msiexec.exe /fvaum "%userprofile%\desktop\msxml.msi" (then press enter) with the above file saved to the Desktop. (Click Start or Start > Run, depending on the OS.)

If the repair doesn't work because the program isn't installed, install with the downloaded file. Otherwise uninstall it (Start > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall) and then reinstall first the MSXML 4 and then Quickbooks.

If the above step doesn't work, then you need to uninstall Quickbooks completely. First uninstall Quickbooks from the Uninstall Wizard mentioned above. Then run the Clean Install Utility from Intuit, https://www.quickbase.com/up/bd9yykidd/g/r9/eg/va/QuickBooks%20Clean%20Install%20Utility.exe , to remove any information from the program that was left after uninstalling. Reinstall Quickbooks after clicking OK when the program says Quickbooks is ready for a clean install.

You could manually rename the installation files instead of using the Clean Install Utility but that would clutter your hard drive.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any help; if you do, please add a comment with your OS.

Quick books won't print

Could be from several issues.
Try locating the file named qbprint.qpb, and renaming it to oldqbprint.qpb. Then reopen QuickBooks and try again.

QBW32.exe error del sistema

Note: Make sure the QuickBooks CD is in the computer's CD drive so that damaged files are properly repaired.

To resolve this error:

Refer to Repair an existing QuickBooks installation for steps to repair the installation.
  • Reapply the product update.
  • If the error continues to occur:

Locate the default installation folder (typically: C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks [version]).
  1. Right-click the default installation folder and choose Rename.
  2. Rename the folder by entering old at the end of the folder name.
  3. Remove and reinstall QuickBooks, being sure that QuickBooks is installed to the local hard drive.

I am installing Quickbooks Pro 2005 on my Windows 7 computer. I got past the flash error but encountered a fatal error when trying to run quickbooks. Any fixes?

Try this:
  1. Open the Program Compatibility troubleshooter by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.jpg, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then clickTroubleshooting. Under Programs, click Run programs made for previous versions of Windows.

  2. Follow the instructions in the troubleshooter.

If you cannot install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the troubleshooter, browse to the program's setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The troubleshooter is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.

New hp 6500 officejet printer, cannot print checks from quickbooks pro

This is actually a quick books issue that they blame on the printers
here are the follwing steps to resolve the issue
Quick Books (2009) qbprint.qbp file change
doc&settings\allusers\appdata\inuit\quickbooks
rename above mentioned file to qbprint.old
if its an erlier version of quickbooks ie. 2006, the file path is then: doc&settings\programfiles\inuit\quickbooks then look for the file and rename it
Here is the website from intuit that acknowledges the issue

Cannot load valid copy of Office 2003, Adobe 7.0 pro, quickbooks

If it is a "new" computer, and Office 2003 and Adobe 7.0 Professional came "pre-installed" on your computer, then take everything back to where you bought the computer, and get them to assist you. If they are at all a "responsible" retailer, they will support the products that they have sold to you.

If you have your own copy of Office 2003, and you are trying to install it, then start Vista's "Program Compatibility Wizard", and select that you want to install an "XP" program, and select the CD-ROM as the "source" for the software that you want to install.

Vista will wrap an "envelope" around Office 2003, to emulate a Windows XP environment.

Same for Quickbooks and for Adobe software.
