LCD remote not working (by 3 users)

The Nikon Remote Cord MC-EU1 for my coolpix 995 does not work in the camera anymore. It seems to have become lose.

I have to hold it in for it to work, but then that defeats the purpose of having it.

Any idea on how to fix it. Does not seem to be sold anymore.
