Printer is paused wont restart

it may be that you have a corrupt file in the print queue, a quick fix is possible - switch the power socket OFF, disconnect the PC/Network connections.
power on the printer, it should have had time to clear the memory now, see if the machine is able to print a menu page or config sheet ( open menu enter the information menu- print config sheet:)
if the printeris able to do thiswith no network connections you have eliminated the printer from the problem. next switch on and log into your PC, still disconnected from printer, open print queue and delete all documents from the queue ( your not deleting the files ( just the print requests)) once this is done then reconnect the printer and send first a windows test page ( confirm working connections first ) then attempt to print the failed file - if it fails in the same manner - the file was your problem.

Hello I have a challenge with printing. When i send to print across the network my document does not print but freeze the print queue for a HP Printer 1018

This could be a number of things. First thing to test is, does it happens with all documents. Suggest trying a Windows Test Print (assuming your using windows)

  • Go to Control Panel-->Printers
  • Locate the relevant printer
  • Right click on the printer and select Properties from the menu
  • Click on 'Print Test Page'

Does this cause the same problem. If not, then it may be a problem with the actual document you are trying to print so check if it is a large file. If it is a large file, then perhaps the 'stall' is actually just the printer taking time to process the file (how long have you left it?)

  • Try printing the same file from a different computer (if possible)
  • Check the system log on event viewer of your machine (Start-->Run, type eventvwr.msc click ok) for any error messages that may indicate the problem.
  • Try uninstalling the printer from your computer and re-installing.

Failing all that then please provide further information, such as how the printer is connected to the network, what OS you're using and what troubleshooting you may already have done.

hope this helps, good luck.

Please take the time to rate this answer. Many Thanks Don.

My printer, HP 8500, has been trying to delete a document for hours with no apparent results. I am unable to print anything else although it does put a new document in queue. I do not get any error...

There are 2 simple methods to resolve any print job stuck in queue issue. However, both the methods will not fix printing issue if the HP Printer is in Error mode. Make sure your printer is able to print self test page to prove its functionality,

First method.

This Utility program resolve all the printing issue for HP Printers Only ( Network and USB connection )

This Utility will Resolve :

1. Check Connectivity between the Pc/laptop and HP Printer
2. Check if there any Documents stuck in Queue
3. Check if all the software/Drivers are correctly Installed
4. Check if the HP Printer icon is the default icon to print
5. Will Resolve Printer Spooler Issue and few more issue

Download the file on Desktop and Run the program ( Ex. File name = HPPDU.EXE )

Click Here to download the Utility and save on Desktop location
Run the HPPDU file and follow the instruction on screen to fix.

If this does not fix, try the 2nd Method given below ( this is manual process to clear the print job stuck in queue )

This works for all brands of printers ( HP, Canon, Epson, Brother etc )

Click Start > Programs > Accessories > then select Command prompt, then the black window will open and there type NET STOP SPOOLER and hit enter that will confirm service is stopped , after that on the black window type NET START SPOOLER and hit enter. Repeat this step 3-4 times and end the command with NET START SPOOLER and hit enter. Open the Printers folder and Refresh the Window ( Press F5 on the keyboard )

The service will be started and all print queue should already be remove.

// Above given solutions help in resolving print queue issue, however check the printer functionality if it is working fine ( the printer should be in working condition and should be able to print self test page, this utility cannot fix printer hardware issue //

Regards,
Ron

Try this one.

1. Open Printers and Faxes.
2. Then double click on the printer icon. And you will see this window.

3. Check if there any documents that are on queue in top of the document your trying print recently.
4. Select that document, Right Click then Cancel.
5. If there's an error in deleting the file. You need to reboot your computer to reset everything in queue on your printer.

EPSON POS PRINTER does not print receipt

Try to clear your printer's queues up messages of all print commands that failed to print. See, what happens it when you send a document to printer, if it fails to print, and you send another, it queues up behind the first that failed to print. So instead of printing the second document it prints what you are seing, special characters etc.

Solution:
Go to start/priners and faxes and right click on your printer and select open. You will all the documents for print so far queued up. select and delete them. Restart your system and the printing should be Ok.

Printing Problem

You can print the Coniguration page and demos?
If so, somehow you may the settings to the printer wrong.
If you select , file, then print, see that the proper printer is selected.
If you can print those other pages, the printer and connection is fine. There is some setting not sending the print job from the applications.
Really sounds like the printer has be deselected at the default printer

Unable to stop printer from printing documents

The actual folder in Windows where spooled documents are stored just before printing is: C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\PRINTERS. I?ve never had print jobs hanging around after the print queue has been deleted but if you clear out anything in this folder that should take care of it. Let us know how things work out and please don?t forget to rate this posting.
