How do I fix a broken toilet seat?

Toilet seats are often found very durable in designs and most of them are made of wooden or particle board to solid wood. Step 3 : Squeeze the seat together you can use bar clamp. Wipe out any excess glue on the outer surface of the crack

Kohler cimarron broken seat, replacement parts don't work 2x's

No do not use metal bolt and nut as this can crack the toilet. Just go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy 2 plastic bolts , 2 plastic wing nuts, and 2 plastic washers. Install with seat through toilet holes and tighten by hand until tight. I then use pliers to tight just a turn tighter and the seat should be center as you tightened one side, then the other, and back again until tight.

I have cleaned the toilet seat in hot water and the plastic glued stoppers for the seat have fallen off and the glue has become hard. Where do I get new stoppers from.

Hi seacenter30

Why buy new seat stoppers when all they need is just re-glueing.
Get yourself a cheap hot glue gun (HomeDepot,Lowes,WalMart, etc) and a couple of hot glue sticks and apply the hot glue to the rubber/plastic stoppers and hold them into position on the toilet seat lid till the glue sets, just takes about 20 seconds...
Then the toilet seat will be good to go again...pardon my pun...:-)
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

What toilet seat hinge replaces Bemis elongated closed front toilet seat (plastic/not a bar/pair of hinges) and who sells? Can't believe Bemis does not support to proclaim hinges set in warm plastic...

The hinges and bumpers on plastic seats are not replaceable. The bumpers are molded in and the hinges are installed with special tools while the plastic is still warm.
Sorry but that's way Bemis does things and is way most good Plumbing shops will not buy or sell them.
They were not like that untill they started having their seats made in China however this may help you http://www.bing.com/shopping/search?q=bemis+toilet+seat+replacement+parts&FORM=HURE

The toilet seat looks terrible on the underside and on the top it has the worn look. The price of over $400.00 to replace it is crazy. Is there a way of painting , cleaning up or should I buy a a new...

You should be able to remove an old worn out, toilet seat and replace. Usually its two Plastic Toilet Seat Bolts and two plastic wing nuts under the bowl. Most of them are hidden in a Plastic Cap where the seat attaches to the Toilet Base. You unsnap the caps to see the bolts. Make sure to hold the Wing Nuts underneath or they might just spin.

If its a matter of cleaning something because of neglect. I have recently started using new products that I purchased from www.ChristineFrey.Norwex.biz with great success!

I clean the entire bath room with three products and water!toilet-seat-looks-terrible-underside-2a0cfbtak4y3luwyen1qnfe3-5-0.jpg
Dirty to Clean its simple fast and effective.

The products are: my EnviroCloth, Blue Diamond Cleaner and my toilet brush. If you are like me, I never heard of any of this until I saw a demonstration November 2014 by this person who's website I posted above in this response.

I have been a plumber for over 30 years. My advice is to throw that seat away
and buy a new seat made by "Bemis". They are the best I have ever seen.

Hope this helps.

Loosing wood colour in exterior deck flooring, floor unused for6m

Hello,

When I recoat my outside wooden seating I use Danish Oil and if the colour has faded I add a small amount of stain of a suitable colour. You could try it with the linseed oil but the Danish oil dries to a hard coating and will build up if several coats are used, allow time to dry between coats.
