I have nearly the same unit. Per the manual: "the E:02 displays when you press Start button and it senses the Breadman is too cold. Unplug the machine and allow it to heat up to room temperature, then try again."
I've also heard that if you don't want to wait, you can use a hair dryer to heat surface!
Remove the rubber washer at the bottom of the pan, split the washer in two halves and glue a #31 O-ring to the bottom half of the old washer. Push it over the post and you might even glue it to the bottom of the pan, then glue the top half of the washer to the top of the O-ring. It worked for me.
Try a google search of your make & model then choose the manufacturer's link to the company website. Most companies post digital versions of product manuals that you can print. You'll probably need Adobe Reader on your computer which is always a useful thing anyway - a free download from Adobe.
I have the entire manual that was emailed to me by Applica Consumer Products, Inc., a subsidiary of Salton, Inc. for the Breadman TR500. I can send in an email as an attachment or you can contact them yourselves and ask about this and other products from their website http://www.prodprotect.com/
