Hi,
simple format compatability issue.
you either don,t have the software on your computer.
Or the disks are unfinished or unfinalised, which means that there are no table-of-contents ( directory structure ) for windows to be able to understand the disks format.
Mike @ Compurepair.
Also the drive ( CD/DVD Rom ) may not be compatable with these disks. check your software read/write program, to see if the disks are supported.

I burnt a video to a DVD+R DL but not playing on my DVD player?

You don't need to format the disc, as it does this during the burn process. What you may find is that your NEC dvd player does not play DVD+R. If you can, re-burn the video on a DVD-R 8.5GB.

You can also compress the video to fit on 4.7GB dvd. Download a program called DVD Shrink 3.2. Put the disc you burnt in the drive, and run DVD Shrink. This will analize the film, and all you need to do is click on Re-Author and lower the compression. It even has a line to show how big the video will be on the disc. On a 4.7GB dvd, you don't want this any higher than 4,430MB.

Hope those work

Dvd mini disc does not play

My client had the same problem. A friend of mine said that you must first finalize the mini disk in the camcorder before you place it in your PC. Did this and I could play it on the PC. Try it.

Computer file doesn't play on DVD player

Hi, burning a WMV file to a dvd wont work on a standard dvd player due to the format, easiest way to fix the problem is using Nero, and selecting video disc and it will convert the file when it burns the disc to a playable format..

DVD with unreadable sector

One way that I test the discs is to rip your burned disc back on to your computer with ImgBurn - usually if there are unreadable sectors, ImgBurn will report it.

It sounds to me like it is one of two things. More likely that you are using a very low quality DVD. Yes there is a difference in the media that you put in and too cheap is just that, cheap. Not all the dyes that are put into a disk are equal. You can try to buy better name brand disc and try that as well. The other possibility is the that you are not finalizing the disc once it's been burned. I've noticed that on Nero the defaults tend to favor multi-session discs and use "write at once" instead of "disc at once." So try using the disc at once feature or finalizing the disc to see if that helps. I know that some legacy drives have a hard time with multi-session discs still. I hope that helps. I know my Sony drives works great and I've been very happy with it.
