I believe that it is 256MB as that is how much mine had when I owned one.

Also if you need more memory you can insert a SD card to expand its memory.

I lost my lyra rd 1076A software cd and i want to install the software on this computer where can i get it?

Did you ever get your software? I did find out you can use Explorer to transfer files to the removable device or use sync in Windows Media player. However I don't know how to access a memory card.

MY RCA LYRA RD 1076A MP3 PLAYER WONT PLAY SONGS WHEN LOADED ONTO A MEMORY CARD EVEN THOUGH IT SHOWS THE CARD IS FULL. HOW DO I GET IT TO PLAY?

The player can only handle cards of a certain size, usually 1gb or less. I would go back over the user's manual and make sure you followed the instructions to the T.

Try inserting the memory card first, then plug the player into the computer.  Worked for me.

Problem using Scan Disk memory card

I had the same problem, and that is what RCA answer me: "... Due to a unique FAT12/16 cluster size requirement, the supplied format utility that comes with the RD1021/RD1071/RD1075 MUST BE used on all SD/MMC cards before they will work in the RD1021/RD1071/RD1075. Once formatted, these cards will still be FAT compatible and should still work with other devices, i.e. RD1080. The format utility can be found under "Programs", "Lyra Personal Audio Player", "RD1021,RD1071,RD1075", "Format Media" once your software has been correctly installed from the included RCA CD-ROM. ..."
