I just finished building my home entertainment pc last night, hooked it up to my 52'' Hitachi 1080i through a gold plated DVI. The nvidia control panel recognized my tv and listed specific settings and even the part number for my tv. Unfortunately, the screen was a complete blur. After hours of tinkering with the display settings I made little progress. In order for me to decipher ANY of the icons or text on my screen, I have to lower the reso to the 720i range, but it's still impossible to read, I just know what the blurry little icons are by memory. I put The Dark Knight bluray disc in and played it...two words; BLOWN AWAY! The picture was amazing, HD surround with logitech speakers was outstanding. I don't know how the movies can be so perfect, but I can't use this pc for anything else. I also know that the picture quality will improve for the bluray if I can get the resolution set to 1080i. I don't know what to do to make this work right. I've read about setting ratios to 1:1, but I didn't find anything in the settings for that. Also, when the reso is set to the highest setting, the movies stutter from frame to frame; i'm guessing the refresh rate of the tv (60Hz) might not be high enough to support the reso. here's the pc specs.
