YES, most defintely. This typically causes the dryer to overheat and eventually blows the thermal cut-out or heating element.

SYMPTOMS:

Dryer runs, but does not heat - possible bad heating element or thermal cut-out.

Dryer does not run at all - possible bad door switch, blown thermal fuse, timer or drive motor.

Does your dryer exhibit any of these symptoms? Please post back and let me know.

Keep in mind, lint traps are not perfect. They do not catch ALL the lint. SOME lint can get pulled past the trap and into the interior of your dryer where it accumulates on the heating element or gets caught in the blower fan assembly. If caught in the blower fan, the blower does not blow air a fast as it should. If accumulated on the heating element, it could catch fire. If you're in the habit of not cleaning the lint trap, you're allowing lint to sit and get pulled into dryer unnecessarily. That's why it is important to clean the lint trap after each use.

My Kenmore 110.62212101 Dryer won't dry my clothes. My heater element does not come on at all and my lent trap is clean.

There may be a blown fuse, but most likely the heater element is burned out. They're not very expensive and pretty easy to replace.

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have not taken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then you need to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should take place. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causes for your dryer to fail.

My maytag 3000 series dryer is not even a year old untill 2 more days, it does not dry my clothes no matter what setting I have it on the lent trap gets cleaned about 2 or 3 times during each cycle, yet it...

oooow,,,temper temper,,,,take a deep breath,,,
i think the temp censor has stoped working thats why its not getting very hot its that or the heating coil/s are broken,,also check the air vents at the back are not blocked up if so its not getting any air to it,,,
then go out and find a big stick,,,and batter it with the stick,,,
this realy wont help fix it,,but it will make you feel soooo much better?

Dryer shuts down after 5mins and also has a random

I think the vent is pluged up or bent so that the lent is trapped in the hose. its getting too hot. don't use it anymore till you get it cleaned and check for lent build up in side. can cause fire.

Lent is damp dryer takes too long to dry and burning smell

Your burning smell might just be lint which has been loosened by you, getting onto the dryer's heating element. If this is the case, the smell should not last long, nor will it damage the dryer.

Dryer is heating but not get clothes dry...

make sure you have a strong air flow from the dryer it self take hose off and run the unit it should force your hand away if not your dryer is stopped up you will have to take fan casing off and clean (the metal going to hole for vent hose) if you do go outside and make sure you vent outside is opening and free of lint also wash your lint filter with warm soapy water fabric sheets stop them up and cause longer drying time
