Upper tank/water and det.flows out when unit is turned on-without pressing trigger

Pressing trigger when on rinse mode does spray out appropriate spray nozzle but when not pressed it spews water out the base. In wash mode, the cleaner does not spray but water continues to leak out base.

Check the valves at the bottom of the tank(43513026)also check for cracks in the tank(42272104). Another thing to check is the handle asm. is a rod that pushs on the resevoir asm(tanks sits on) to make sure that it is stuck in the on position. Depressing the trigger and watching, you should be able to see if it is moving up and down ok.

Install upper control rod

Hi, it's Jeremy from Crucial Vacuum.

To attach the upper handle to your Hoover Steam Vac remove the clean solution tank (upper tank) from the deep cleaner. Then, attach the upper handle to the lower handle by pushing the upper handle down onto lower one. Use the provided bolts to secure the handles. Push the bolts into the accompanying holes on the front of handle. If the bolts do not go through the holes easily, your handle is not pushed completely down. When the handle sections are completely together, squeeze the trigger on the upper handle to snap the trigger rod into place.

I just bought a hoover steam vac model F5914900 and the clean water tank is leaking. I tried pressing the clean surge button and the trigger button that was suggested by someone else but it won't

Go to Hoover.com and find a local Service Station. They will replace it at no charge. MUST be a warranty location to get it free. Take your sales slip with you.

My hoover steam vac is losing all the cleaner and water out of tank the trigger isn't stuck

You will need a resevoir. This is the valve that the solution tank sits on when put on the machine. If your exact part number is not available ask to look at another model series, you may get a different colo but you will have a working steam cleaner.

No water dispenses from my hoover ultra steam vac model F5883-900 when the trigger is squeezed.

Remove the clean water tank and look in the opening just behind the black grommet. Operate the trigger - you should see the valve move downward as the trigger is pressed. If it is NOT moving, then you will need to have the trigger plunger shaft repaired/replaced

Cleaning solution tank dumping

in some cases the reservoir that the tank sits on would have to be replaced. best way to tell is, if you take the tank off and pour a little water in the valve where the rubber gramet is. if it holds the water its good, but if it goes down without you pressing the trigger then it will be the reservoir.

Clarification Request By reddevil6, posted on May 01, 2008 What is your problem? Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
You may have a bad water pump, bad gasket, the water release valve could be broken, or the water tank is not sitting on the opening properly or the trigger assm is not closing properly. Feel free to check with you local vac dealer or a new or a good used part if you find out what is wrong. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
