Ok i just opened mine up on counter and found that the white wire on the high voltage transformer had been loose and melted so i put a new female spade connector on and it works fine. i suspect that from a year of use and humm from transformer had loosen it and gotten hot thus loosing connection and getting dirty causing it to overheat and burn off plastic sheilding. easy fix!!!

The high voltage transformer connector is a defect in these microwave oven models. I do not recommend them. I purchaed on last year , my husband has changed and repaired the connctors (white wire on the high voltage transformer ) need to open the microwave to find this. It's been replaced at least 5 times in the past year. It burns, overheats which makes the microwave oven shut down completely.

Every thing works, but no heating and no noise. I am happy you had noticed that there was a difference in the "Noise". Some describe it as a vibration you can feel in the cabinet. The "Noise" is only present when the High Voltage Transformer is engaged. The "Noise" is a low Humm which The High Voltage Transformer emits. Without The High Voltage the unit will not Heat.
BECAUSE you say it heats Sometimes. I suspect a LOOSE CONNECTION between the Low Voltage (115v) and the Primary of The High Voltage Transformer. Could be a Solder Connection, or just a Loose Wire. Loose, not Open. If it were OPEN it would not "Cook" at anytime.

DANGER WARNING! Potential Hazard if your microwave was working and now doesn't...

If you have this model microwave and it was working fine, then one day it stopped heating items placed inside there are a handful of different issues that could be the problem. In my case it was intermittent, over a period of a few days it would sometimes work (heat) and sometimes not. NO MATTER if this is what your's is doing or if it stopped heating all together. If you decide to let it dry out, or not use it for a while to see if it was a one time occurrence, or whatever the reason, the first time you put something in and probably for the next 10 times at least (this assumes it starts to work again), make sure you are right there with it while it is cooking. Don't assume you can put something in, go do something and come back when the timer is beeping. There is a chance (as this happened to me) that your food inside will CATCH FIRE! Normal food item placed inside, no metal, nothing different than the numerous times before when this had been cooked but when we smelled smoke we came running. Fortunately it started and finished inside the microwave but that's not a guarantee, it could spread. Play it safe. Never had a problem like this before and never heard of a microwave cooking something until it caught on fire (especially since the time entered for the cook was 30 seconds) but it did.

My new Haier microwave isn't working! I just plugged it in for the first time, and set the clock on it. Then I tried to turn it on. No matter what cook time I enter, and then press start/30 sec., nothing...

When it times down but doesnt heat it is typically a problem with the door switches, especially one you just bought, may have been from shipping . A switch or connection may have been disodged when being shipped to you. Most machines have something like 4-5 wswitches, If 1 doesnt report right it will stiop the unit from running. But since some of them are closed it will accept the programing and try to operate. So a lot of times you get fan running and tray turning but no power to the secondary circuits. You will need to find out who does warranty for them or return it where you bought it as a defective unit.

Most likely the touch panel is bad. You can try ordering a new one from by searching with your model number. If you find that replacing it doesn't help, return the panel within 30 days and you are only out the shipping costs. With what you describe, it should be the panel itself. Let me know what you find out.

Panasonic Microwave only works for 37 secs no matter what time setting

If it stops after 22 seconds, that means the controller has detected a problem, usually a problem with the inverter or a bad magnetron.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced in inverters, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.

It sounds like your magnetron has failed.

I would put a cup or so of water in it and heat it for about 3 minutes.

Then check inside and see if you smell any electrical burning or other smell.

You should have a 5-year warranty on the magnetron.

Convection oven problem

Most of the time the magnetron is defective if the food is not heating up.
In some cases there is a defective low power transformer or other componenents associated with the magnetron.
I would suggest to check the owners manual under the warranty section. Sometimes the magnetron has 5 years warranty.
Good Luck.
