Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T20 Digital Camera
Your problem is exactly my T2's problem. I returned it to the vendor and I was informed that the board is damaged and possible reason is it was dropped. Just like you, I didn't drop my T2. I wish there will be a good samaritan who can suggest a fix for the camera is quite a lot of money and being able to just use it for a month is quite awful.

I don't know if I can do much besides commiserate and tell you about this *completely* outlandish workaround I arrived at via trial-and-error for my DSC-T20 with a similar problem.
A little background: I've had my T-20 for about 8 months. About 4-ish months ago I started getting this 62:02 error message onscreen. Still get it all the time. And yes, I love(d) my camera, too.
The error darkens the edges of pix, disallows me from turning it off w/o popping the battery out, disallows me turning it back on (sometimes), and causes a steady degradation of focus/auto-focus over a matter of seconds.
When I could turn it on, sometimes the green pilot light would blink on, the screen would say "SONY", and then it would die before the cyber-shot logo popped up. For a time (while it worked) I found that if I kept the "take picture button" pressed down while it was booting-up, it would hiccup/blink off for a sec--then start up normally.
Of course, this workaround doesn't always work, as the camera won't even turn on at all to start it's boot. Workaround: I found that if I pressed the sliding cover quite hard (the auto-ON switch--which is how it seems yours works, too) , as I slid it down v e r y slowly (while continuing to exert pressure), the camera would turn on.
I hope that this is helpful, and if it's not, I suggest you goof around with yours to see if you can figure out some of your own ridiculous (and in a reasonable world: *totally* unnecessary) workarounds.
