Question about Washing Machines

Singer sewing machine model 9410 - Seems like each time I change bobbin I have trouble sewing. 1. Plastic case bobbin sits in comes loose - finally think I have metal bar over that securely. 2. It's skipping stitches. 3. stitches are uneven. 3. fabric doesn't move by itself, if I help it along, thread bunches up. this assistance won't let me go on unless I choose a category. There is no category for sewing machinesor anything close. I choose washer!!

I have the same problem and the part that the bobbin sits in is called a STITCH LENGTH CONTROL CRANK Part number 312801 That's all I could find out. Unfortunately for me - that little lip on that part broke off. I didn't realize it had come loose and when I changed out the bobbin - crunch! Do you know where to get parts online???

I don't know online but the sewing repair store in my town sells them in stock. It cost me about 25.00 if I remember correctly.

Final Spin Trouble

Time remaining is not always correct. The machine adjusts it's cycle times for various load conditions, but the display doesn't adjust. Instead it just stays where it was when the machine started making the adjustment. An example would be if you don't use high efficiency (he) detergent. What happens is that regular detergent creates too many suds. When the machine drains the water emptys first leaving a layer of suds. The pump can't move suds because of it's poor design. Try to imagine a hose filled with suds with a small impeller at one end. The impeller can pull the suds immediately around it away but anything out of it's reach will just sit there till they pop.

Likewise, the pressure switch can't detect a lack of pressure because the suds (being ornery little clusters of air) sit in the space that should be occupied by water, or in this case no water. Fooling in effect, the pressure switch into behaving as if the tub still contains water. Once enough bubbles pop the pressure switch will do it's thing and the time display will start where it stopped as does the rest of the cycle, in this case final spin..

So first let's verify that it isn't just a cycle adjustment. About the only way to do that is to see if it will finish the cycle. Unless you just use way too much detergent ten minutes should be way more than enough time for suds to pop or about anything else to correct itself. So next time it occures just wait and see what happens. Maybe it'll give us an error code. Let me know.

Washer is out of balance in the dpin cycle since we installed a new floating floor in our laundry room. Have tried rubber feet for levelers and sticky pads to floor, nothing seems to help.

So, is the machine level and STABLE? The final step is to tilt the machine forward on to the two front feet. This allows the rear, SELF LEVELING legs to reset. Then set the machine back on all four feet.

Sometimes the real feet get jambed and will not release unless you pry them loose. In extreme cases the rear feet damage the plastic holder that they are in...

BUT, the tilt foreward and set back on rear legs works most every time.

Hi, ive just purchased a newish used singer 6038 sewing machine, every time i try to sew the thread keeps coming out of the needle and it is not sewing at all, ive checked the tension, checked i have...

Hi Yes if the bobbing case is not put back correctly it can cause all sorts of problems. Do you have the instruction book for the machine? If so just have a look through and it should show you in detail how to take the bobbin and case out to clean it, then with these instructions you should be able to fit it correctly. Otherwise if you have a look at the metal case that the bobbin case fits into (its called a hook race) and there should be markers like an arrow or lines, when the bobbin case is fitted back in these markers are lined up and there also should be a notch at the front of the case and this sits to the left of the stopper. Just make sure there are no threads caught up in the hook race, that can stop your machine from working too. The only thing that I can think could be causing your thread to come out is the tension but if you've checked that just try and fix the bobbin, this may be all thats wrong. Good luck, hope this helps.
