Question about Washing Machines

Singer sewing machine model 9410 - Seems like each time I change bobbin I have trouble sewing. 1. Plastic case bobbin sits in comes loose - finally think I have metal bar over that securely. 2. It's skipping stitches. 3. stitches are uneven. 3. fabric doesn't move by itself, if I help it along, thread bunches up. this assistance won't let me go on unless I choose a category. There is no category for sewing machinesor anything close. I choose washer!!

I have the same problem and the part that the bobbin sits in is called a STITCH LENGTH CONTROL CRANK Part number 312801 That's all I could find out. Unfortunately for me - that little lip on that part broke off. I didn't realize it had come loose and when I changed out the bobbin - crunch! Do you know where to get parts online???

I don't know online but the sewing repair store in my town sells them in stock. It cost me about 25.00 if I remember correctly.

I am not sure about this particular machine but in most machines there will be a nob on the front loose low numbers like 0 1 -2 work well on number 3. If the nob is not on the front check and see if it is on the side.

My bottom stitch is "loose"

You might try adjusting your bobbin. You can do this with a tiny flat head screwdriver. Adjust in very small increments! There is a screw located on your bobbin case.

Here is the info directly from the manual:
"To test if the bobbin thread tension is correct, suspend the bobbin case by the thread and **** it once. Correct bobbin tension will result in the thread unwinding by only one or two inches. If too loose it will unwind continuously. If too tight, the thread will not unwind at all. When adjusting the tension on the bobbin case, make only slight adjustments with a screwdriver."

That is usually the cause of garbled up threads on the bottom side. Sure hope this helps!
(The 132Q is my third Singer, but will be my last. It's been a nightmare to deal with, and ALWAYS has something going wrong with it. I can never just sit down and do a project.... it is like the settings never stay put. There is also a LOT of plastic inside this model, and it cracks, breaks, warps, etc. We've replaced plastic gears/parts with metal parts, and it still acts up. Just a lemon model!)

Installing the hook and bobbin assembly.

The plastic bobbin case should sit on top of the raceway, it should slot in quite easily, once the bobbin case is in put the small metal clip at the top over to hold it in place.

Can't put the plastic bobbin holder back into position

make sure the needle is all the way up and the bobbin is in the case the right way. check to be sure there is no lint or dirt impeding the case. you may have to take out the piece the case fits into to do this. i have found this to be the problem more times than not.

Singer 9410 Bobbin

Update:  Today I took my machine in to get serviced - they replaced the metal bobbin I was using with a plastic one, that was a little less rattley inside the bobbin case, replaced the needle with a new, universal one, and changed out the thread with something a little higher quality.  They also adjusted the spring holding the bobbin case slightly, and now it seems to work fine.  I'm not sure how long it will last, but for now I'm good.

I had the same problem and after looking on here and finding no answer I went back to my machine and found out what the problem was...ok, where the bobbin case sets in,the metal plate beside it needs to be fitted right close to the bobbin case, so loosen the screws(just two of them) that are in the plate(DO NOT REMOVE JUST LOOSEN) and slide the metal plate over some just enough to fit snug...NOT TOO TIGHT... if its seems to sew too tight loosen it a bit It worked for me, GOOD LUCK
