Beeping Hi , one day the tv just went black , no pic , no sound, but it has a beeping noise coming from it, I see one person said it was the ic"s "stk392-180 , I had it checked out and the said the h/v generator was bad, which one is it more likely to be, the generator or the ic's, or should I just replace all three since im there, plus what kind of soldier do I use on it. thank you

well I fixed it, I figured since the guy who checked it out already had the h/v generator out that I would just replace it first just to see, that fixed it.

I had the same problem. You need to replace one IC chip. Check for instructions and a kit.

    Hi there,

Thanks for your posting in FixYa.

I think the IC placed in it is not compatible. So you need to go for a repair shop to diagnose it thoroughly.

A set beeping doesnt have to mean your CRTs are dead. Its more than likely something in your power supply. Do you have any diagnosis or soldering skills?

    TV started popping then died

sounds like the sound amplifyer IC in the set went bad and it holding down or blew out the voltage regulator. If your a tech first thing I would do is find the sound output IC and disconnect the main b+ lead and see if the tv will come on. if it did I would replace the audio output IC. If it didnt i would have to troubleshoot the Power supply for the missing voltage. if your not a tech its not advised to try to do this repair as there are no user serviceable parts inside this set. Seek A Pro to assist in this repair as there is hi voltage in this set even when its unplugged. Good Luck
