Ricoh 6770 We have a Ricoh 6770 and it has a password on it so every time we use it we have to type the password in. Do you know how we would remove it so that we don't have to enter a password?? Thanks!!

mostly the password is blank for ricoh machines.

E-9 error in Fujitsu fi-6670/fi-6770 is the Image Memory Alarm which implicates scanner memory malfunction.Turn off and turn on the scanner, does the same symptom still occurs? If yes, then you may have to replace the DIMM located at the memory slots on the CGA board. If the issue still persists after replacement of DIMM, then you may have to replace the Control PCA. I would recommend to contact an authorized FUJITSU scanner service provider or the dealer where you purchased the scanner.

Unfortunately, the password is saved in non-volatile memory. Ricoh does not offer a 'back-door reset' option like you would find in commercial routers. If the device is that great then you should get your money back in less than a year to have Ricoh reset it for you.
I could not find any software or tips on how to reset the password from the user side. I am sorry that the Police Department is that worthless that they didn't make sure the unit was scrubbed before selling it.

Thru web image monitor, type the ip address into a web browser (upper portion) so if ip is 178.005.045.100 type in 178.5.45.100, sometimes the 0's wont allow you in. Log in as an administrator. name is admin no password. and add your name and display name and in the lower portion the e-mail address. -Carl

Go to user tools-key op tools-network-tcp ip- ip address put the appropiate info in.(including gateway address.) then type the ip address into the top portion of a web browser an you should be in web image monitor. you configure the printer there. User name is admin no password. -Carl

From the Control Panel > Printers and Faxes, select your printer driver and open the printing preferences.
In Setup, in the [Job Type:] click on the arrow and select Locked Print.
Press Details and enter User ID and password.
Print a document.
Go at the printer and press the Menu button and select Locked print, and enter your password to print your doc.

Try getting into service mode and see if you can reset the user passwords by turning them off in the settings.

Do you know how to get into service mode?

if u have bios password u shoud do that remove your bios battry from the motherboard for few mints & your password will be reset
