Question about Graphics Cards

NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 low megapixel rate

I have a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 I recently installed on my computer. I installed the latest drivers and it seems to be running on the basic aspect, but the games I bought for still lag very bad. I ran a scan on Pcpitstop and found that I'm only pulling 11.9 mp/s where most other systems are pulling 76mp/s/
Heres some stats on my computer.

Processor Intel Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.00GHz Keyboard Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard USB USB Root Hub System Generic Bus System Extended IO Bus System ACPI Fan SCSIAdapter SCSI/RAID Host Controller System ACPI Thermal Zone Monitor Default Monitor Monitor Default Monitor Monitor Default Monitor Monitor Plug and Play Monitor DISPLAY NVIDIA NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200

Any ideas?

You mean the graphics card controls itself?
Since I've been issued such lag I've changed almost everything on my computer to performance settings, killed all the eye candy, and reduced all unneccesary background programs.

If you're not talking about the profile for the graphics card, then how do I get to my system profile.
    Oh and it's 1.280gb ram
    60 harddrive

Alright, I'm not sure what happened. I switched the slots with my sound card and my vid card tweaked, so I switched it back and now it works fine. Maybe it was just some kind of technical error.

I'm pulling 68mps which should deal for now.

Thank you so much for the help, much apreciated

Yeppers..in your system profile, you may need to shift how your processor is handling files. move pointer to maximum performance, or maximum resolution. can't have it both ways.

didn't see how much memory you have on board.

got backup?

Hi.

You do not necessarily need to disable the built in graphic adapter, the computer can manage two different adapters.
The nVidia should show picture with standard VGA definition (800x600 only) if simply connected to the AGP or PCI slot even if drivers are not installed, and even if built in GPU is not disabled.
If there is no picture, check installation in slot, check that card is not disabled in BIOS, check video cable is well connected, and if nothing works, test the video adapter on different PC, the card may be faulty.

The only time that this can happen is if the driver is not installed correctly, as on install you are normally asked if you want to activate support for dual monitors, so if you havent already, uninstall the card driver, restart and install driver again from the cd or from the NVIDIA website. http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71.html If you have already tried this my apologies.
